Manly United and Sydney United 58 were unable to be separated in a 1-1 draw on Friday night at Cromer Park.
In a game of few chances, Manly took the lead in the first half through Blake Bamgbose before Stephan De Robillard restored parity after halftime.
On a positive note, the hosts did stop United 58’s surge towards the top after the visitors secured four successive victories only to be thwarted by the Northern Beaches outfit.
NWS Spirit FC 1 v Wollongong Wolves 0 at Christie Park – Full Match Report and Highlights
NWS Spirit secured a vital round 14 National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW win over Wollongong Wolves in gritty fashion at Christie Park on a rain-soaked Saturday evening.
A match of few chances, it was both defensive units who shone in this game with the lone goal coming from Spirit star Jesse Michel after the hour.
The victory was an important one for the hosts as they moved clear of the bottom two as the season headed towards the halfway mark.
It was a tough loss for the Wolves who have struggled on the road this year, with David Carney’s troops hoping to bounce back next Friday against Many United.
Western Sydney Wanderers 3 v Sydney Olympic 2 at Wanderers Football Park – Full Match Report and Highlights
Western Sydney Wanderers got up 3-2 in an all-action encounter with Sydney Olympic on Saturday night at Wanderers Football Park.
Sydney Olympic went in front four minutes in through Michael Vakis before goals to Alexander Badolato and Anthony Pantazopoulos for the Wanderers rounded out a thrilling first 10 minutes.
Teng Kuol equalised for Olympic with 20 regular minutes to play but Nathanael Blair grabbed the points for Western Sydney in stoppage time.
Hills United 1 v APIA Leichhardt 2 at Landen Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights
APIA Leichhardt have continued their title charge with a 2-1 victory over Hills United in a hotly contested match at Landen Stadium.
The reigning Premiers opened the scoring through Ben Gibson after a goalmouth scramble following a set piece, before doubling their lead via a clinical Sean Symons header from a corner.
Hills United answered shortly after with a strong header from Thomas Lopez, but despite a chaotic ending, couldn’t come away with a point.
St George City 1 v Sutherland Sharks 1 at Penshurst Park – Full Match Report and Highlights
Struggling Sutherland Sharks picked up a valuable 1-1 draw away to an in-form St George City.
The home side drew first blood when Louis Khoury had a brilliant effort on the turn find the bottom left corner against his old club.
The Sharks responded well though, and an excellent low cross from Max Green found the incoming Mathew Jackson, who poked it in from close range, and was ultimately the goal that settled a draw.
Blacktown City 3 v Marconi Stallions 0 at Landen Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights
Blacktown City recorded a huge result defeating the Marconi Stallions 3-0 to consolidate their place in the higher echelons of the table at Landen Stadium on Sunday.
A first half goal to Joey Gibbs were followed by two in the second stanza of play, one each to former Stallions players Martin Fernandez and Mitchell Mallia to give Blacktown City the convincing win.
However, it must be noted that two second half send offs – James Temelkovski and Nathan Millgate – really did put Marconi out of the contest.
Rockdale Ilinden 3 v Sydney FC 1 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights
Rockdale Ilinden continued its claims to challenge for the 2024 National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW title with a 3-1 victory over Sydney FC at the Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday.
Ilinden took the early lead thanks to their main man Alec Urosevski before Mitchell Glasson levelled from the spot just before the break.
Urosevski added his second and 15th for the year from the spot himself in the second half before Giorgio Speranza finished off the scoring in Rockdale’s 3-1 win.
