2024 NPL NSW Men's review ESF

Let’s check out the mini reviews from the Elimination Semi-Finals of the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition.

APIA Leichhardt FC 1 v Sydney United 58 2 at Lambert Park – Full Match Report and Highlights

Sydney United 58 have booked their spot in the NPL Men’s NSW Semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over rivals APIA Leichhardt in a blistering match of football at Lambert Park.

An action-packed first-half featured plenty of chances, but it took until the second half for the game’s first goal, with United 58 opening the scoring courtesy of a brilliant strike from Carlos De Oliveira.

APIA aimed to launch a comeback, but it was thwarted by a Patrick Antelmi strike in the 79th minute, before Ben Gibson halved the deficit for the home side with three minutes of regulation time to play.

Late in stoppage time, APIA looked to have found the equaliser, with a Rory Jordan shot bouncing off the crossbar, but it was adjudged to not cross the line, with United 58 securing a statement win with a strong performance.

Blacktown City 4 v St George City 2 at Landen Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights

Blacktown City and St George City played out an exhilarating NPL Men’s NSW Elimination Final, with Blacktown prevailing 4-2 at Landen Stadium after extra time.

St George’s Fumoto Kamada got the scoring started less than 10 minutes in before Jak O’Brien equalised as the team went into sheds level.

St George restored their lead with 12 minutes to play through Solomon-Johnn Monahan-Vaiika, but not long after, Joey Gibbs got Blacktown back into the game to send it to extra time.

Matthew Keremelevski’s red card for St George in the first period of extra time gave Blacktown the initiative.

O’Brien grabbed his second just before the second period of extra time and Mitchell Mallia added a super fourth for the team in the dying embers.
