NSW Premier League Finals Series Week Two Preview

10 September , 2012 By Football NSW Leave a Comment

Bonnyrigg White Eagles v Marconi Stallions, Saturday 15th of September, 6:00 pm Bonnyrigg Sports Club
Last Week:
Bonnyrigg White Eagles (bye)
Sydney Olympic 0 Marconi Stallions 2
A grand-final berth is up for grabs on Saturday evening as Bonnyrigg White Eagles look to make the most of home ground advantage when Marconi Stallions visit Bonnyrigg.
The White Eagles, fresh from clinching the 2012 Premiership, and rested following a weekend off from official football duties, will be eager to confirm its spot in the showcase match of the season.
Bonnyrigg has been flawless this season, and the side will be hoping for nothing less than victory in-front of its supporters on Saturday.
Coach Brian Brown has the luxury of choosing his starting lineup from a fine group of players, all in top form at the right end of the season. Captain Chris Tadrosse will again been instrumental for the side, as will Tynan Diaz down the right-flank; the Bonnyrigg number 7 out to better his goal of the season, recognised at the recent Gold Medal dinner.
Marconi Stallions will be confident of pulling off another major upset following the defeat of Sydney Olympic at Belmore last weekend. The Stallions were far from their best in the opening 45? minutes, however Luke Casserly?s men really turned it on in the second-half.
Joey Gibbs was fabulous with his two goals, assisted greatly by the fine displays of Nahuel Arrarte and Nathan Elasi.
In a match between two sides with a proud history, good attacking football will be expected as both sides will fight tooth and nail to secure a spot in the grand-final.
Sydney Olympic v Blacktown City FC, Sunday 16th of September, 3:00 pm Belmore Sports Ground
Last Week:
Sydney Olympic 0 Marconi Stallions 2
South Coast Wolves 1 Blacktown City FC 2
Sydney Olympic were stunned last weekend by Marconi Stallions who ?pipped? the reigning champions for a first-up shot at Bonnyrigg White Eagles. The Blues created chances in the opening half though failed to break the Stallions stern defence ? in the end, those missed chances proved fatal.
Coach Peter Tsekenis will be looking for an immediate response from his chargers as the Blues season goes on the line. Captain Phil Makrys will need to be vocal on the field to get his teammates up for the match, meanwhile Gold Medal winner Chris Triantis will have the creative duties.
Blacktown City FC played a near perfect 90? minutes on the South Coast against the Wolves, further confirming the side?s ability to give the finals series a real crack.
Adam Jenner and Zac Cairncross were the goalscorers last weekend, with the likes of Luke Roodenburg and Travis Major also playing a big role.
The Blacktown City captain has announced that this will be his last season at the club ? Roodenburg ready to call it a day on his playing career ? and there is no doubt that the magnificent servant to the club will be fighting to ensure the 2010 champions march on for three more matches in the finals series.
Encounters between these two sides always produce action aplenty, and with both sides? seasons on the line, we could be set for a very tense elimination bout on Sunday.
