Sydney United 58’s crafty midfielder Glen Trifiro has secured a loan deal with the Central Coast Mariners for the remainder of the Hyundai A-League season.
Mariners coach Phil Moss secured the services of the Glenwood resident, who had a standout season for the 2013 inaugural NPL Champions and IGA NPL NSW Mens 1 Premiers having played a pivotal role in the club’s success.
Trifiro also picked up the plaudits of being awarded the John Kosmina Medal for best player in the NPL Final victory against South Hobart FC where they won 2-0 and scored the game’s first goal.
This is the second time Trifiro will be donning the Mariners colours as he was part of the club’s youth team a few seasons ago.
Sydney United 58 FC coach Mark Rudan heaped praise on his pupil and praised his performances that won him his loan deal.
“It’s a great reward for Glen on his exceptional season, professional work ethic, attitude and application – it was well deserved,” he stated on his official Twitter account.
In what could be a family affair, Glen may have the chance to take on his brother Jason, a Western Sydney Wanderer, during their round 25 clash at Bluetongue Stadium.
