Sydney Olympic is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with Bank of Sydney as its Front of Shirt Senior Mens and Club Naming Rights Sponsor for the upcoming 2014 IGA National Premier League NSW Mens 1 season.

Delegates from Bank of Sydney headlined the club’s sold out Friends of Sydney Olympic Foundation Dinner at Alpha Restaurant in the city’s CBD, with Club President Chris Tsioulos confirming the agreement to guests and media delegates.

Extensive discussions between the Club and Bank of Sydney led to Monday’s announcement, with the Bank of Sydney’s logo to be emblazoned on our famous Blue and white home jersey for the impending season.

With Master of Ceremonies for the evening, Fox Sports’ presenter Simon Hill, conducting interviews of former Sydney Olympic FC footballers, Brett Emerton, Nick Carle, Ante Milicic and current First Grade Coach Grant Lee, the Club proudly introduced its new partner and revealed its 2014 jersey for the first time.

President Tsioulos heralded the Club and Bank of Sydney as “perfect partners” with “remarkable records of community engagement”, highlighting the Bank’s initiatives and commitment to community groups that it works with.

“We share a similar heritage and history,” said Tsioulos, “we share common customers and supporters, and today we are proud to be able to place the Bank of Sydney name on the front of the Sydney Olympic jersey.”

“From today on,” said Tsioulos, “when you see Sydney Olympic, you will see Bank of Sydney”.

While Bank of Sydney has operated under its current name for less than a year, it has been operating throughout Australia under full Banking Licence since 2001, operating branches in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

Accompanied on the night by Board Member Gregory Gav and Head of Marketing Branch and Community Development, Soteris Hadjikyriakou, Bank of Sydney CEO Julie Elliot accepted a framed 2014 Sydney Olympic FC jersey with the Bank’s name prominently displayed at its centre.

The Club is set to wear Bank of Sydney on its jersey for the first time in Round 1 against Sydney United on Sunday 16 March, when the team travels to Edensor Park to contest another huge derby in an historic year for the National Premier League competition.
