IGA National Premier Leagues NSW Mens 1 outfit APIA Leichhardt Tigers have added to its playing roster for the remainder of the 2014 season by signing former Sydney FC player Marc Warren.
The Inner West club will have Warren available for their hugely anticipated Good Friday clash against traditional rivals Sydney Olympic with kick off scheduled for 7:45pm.
Warren, who was part of Frank Farina’s starting line-up for the Sky Blues in the early stages of the Hyundai A-League season was a Shire product playing for the likes of the Menai Hawks and Sutherland Sharks. The 22-year-old then went on to be part of the NSWIS as well as the AIS before joining the Central Coast Mariners in 2010. From there he won himself a contract with English outfit Sheffield United before moving off to Scottish side Airdrie United a year later.
It is believed that the club is in discussions with another Sydney FC player with plans to register another Sky Blue shortly.
APIA coach Billy McColl will be hoping that Warren can assist the club’s plight in playing finals football this year as well as qualifying for the FFA Cup.
