Team of the Week: Round 10
It was a pulsating weekend of matches in Round 10 of the PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1, and Team of the Week for this round throws up a number of new names.
APIA Leichhardt Tigers shotstopper Ryan Norval has taken his opportunity with open arms and after his weekend clean sheet and performance, earns himself a spot. It was Norval’s crucial saves that kept the Tigers in the match thus earning him a spot as the number one for this weekend.
Rhys Williams helped his Manly United side to an important point against the South Coast Wolves on Saturday putting in a man of the match performance on the left hand side of the pitch. Blacktown City captain Zac Cairncross was one of the best on the park in the derby as they defeated rivals the Spartans. Steven Wright was welcomed back into the Parramatta FC line up where he was a stand- out performer in an important victory against the Suns. Sydney Olympic FC’s Nik Tsattalios, who has had a wretched time with injuries showed his class with a fantastic performance in the Blues’ victory over the Sharks.
In midfield, Bonnyrigg White Eagles work horse Ray Miller backed up from a good performance mid- week to do the same on Saturday night as his team only managed to draw, in the same match, Adrian Ucchino put in a man of the match performance for APIA Leichhardt Tigers against his former club. Mitch Mallia picked up a brace for Blacktown City and was on fire as he showed yet again he feels right at home at Lilys Stadium.
Robbie Shields has now scored in consecutive weeks for the Marconi Stallions and is starting to hit form and earned himself a spot up-front. Sydney Olympic’s Dimitri Hatzimouratis continued his goal scoring form, scoring two goals to take him to eight for the season. Since joining Sydney United 58 FC, Richie Cardozo has shown his lethalness in front of goal, scoring another goal over the weekend.
