Team of the Week: Round 19

With the PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 competition nearing the final rounds, teams as well as individuals are stepping up their chase of finals football.
It was a horror debut for Ivan Necevski a few weeks back in the Rockdale City Suns goal but he put in a top shelf performance over the weekend to earn his team a clean sheet and a valuable victory in their hunt for finals football.
Darcy Madden moved into the team of the week for the first time this season after putting in a good shift for the South Coast Wolves as they inch ever closer to the top five. Strong defence from the Wolves, with Madden an important part of that, has been key in their turn around.
Daniel Petkovski’s form continues to improve for Rockdale City Suns. It seems his mid-season move was the right one for him and his team as they now sit just outside the top five. Petkovski has been a standout and a major part of the Suns defence in recent weeks.
Blacktown City captain Zach Cairncross has been phenomenal in the centre of defence for his side and helped his defence to another clean sheet on Sunday. The Premiership is within touching distance for Cairncross and his team with only three rounds of the regular season remaining.
Despite his Sutherland Sharks going down, Perry Moustakas was one of the best on the park for his side and deserved his spot in the team of the week. His hard work in defence went unrewarded with a late goal consigning his side to defeat.
On the wings of captain Brendan Cholakian, Manly United are on the rise. Cholakian put in another performance of the highest quality for his side on the weekend and has been one of the best players throughout this season.
It was a match to remember for Blade Richards and Parramatta FC on Sunday afternoon, overturning a half time deficit to come out victors. Richards picked up a goal and was a real force for his team as they registered an important win.
Sydney Olympic has all but cemented a final’s place and Will Angel has been integral in their midfield. Two fantastic assists, one for the winner, saw his side come from two-down to take all three points.
If there is an in-form striker in the PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 competition then look no further than Aaron Peterson. Peterson has now scored four goals in his last four games and he will be a threat to opposition defences.
Another striker to watch out for is South Coast Wolves hitman Jordan Murray. Murray picked up the winner on the weekend to make it three goals in as many weeks to take his tally to five for the season.
Marco Sama was fantastic for Parramatta FC in an incredible come from behind victory. Sama picked up the final fifth goal minutes before full time, sealing the victory before being replaced.
