Round 11 Review – PS4 NPL NSW Men’s
Another exciting week of PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition action is in the books with Round 11 delivering fans with plenty to talk about.
Sydney United 58 remains at the top of the pile with a comprehensive win against Hakoah Sydney City East but Blacktown City is hot on their tail with a come from behind win in this week’s Match of the Round against Manly United.
The biggest upset of the weekend came courtesy of Sutherland Sharks who broke its 5 game winless streak with an unexpected 2-0 victory against APIA Leichhardt Tigers.

Blacktown City FC 2- Manly United FC 1 at Lily’s Football Centre
A spirited 10-man Blacktown City has overcame Manly United 2-1 in an thrilling PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s clash at Lily’s Football Centre on Sunday.
Second half goals to Danny Choi and Travis Major allowed the home side to fight back after Sam Gallagher provided Manly with a one goal advantage 90 seconds after the opening whistle.
The fight back was all the more impressive considering the send off of fullback Giorgio Speranza who was dismissed by referee Kate Jaciewicz after receiving a second yellow card in the 42nd minute.
Despite the loss, Manly United will by buoyed by the performance of new recruit Richie Cardozo who returns to the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s completion in a rich vein of form.
Blacktown City remain in second place on the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition ladder only one point behind Sydney United 58 on 28 points.
Manly sit in fourth spot with 16 points.
Saturday
Sutherland Sharks 2 – APIA Leichhardt Tigers 0 at Seymour Shaw Park
Sutherland Sharks has broken its five game winless streak with a 2-0 victory against a freefalling APIA Leichhardt Tigers during its PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s clash at Seymour Shaw on Saturday.
A goal in each half courtesy of Jordan Figon and Stephen Hayes helped the Sharks to the unexpected win.
APIA battled to stay in the match but a red card to Themba Muata-Marlow in the 76th minute killed the chances of the visitors.
APIA goes into Round 12 only one point off bottom spot with only two wins so far this season.
The win elevates Sutherland into tenth position, one spot above APIA.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles 1 – Wollongong Wolves 1 at Bonnyrigg Sports Centre
South Coast local boy Joshua Macdonald was the hero for Wollongong Wolves as Jacob Timpano’s side came from behind and a man down to salvage a 1-1 draw with Bonnyrigg White Eagles at Bonnyrigg Sports Club in a riveting PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s affair.
Wollongong Wolves were reduced to ten men following David Stojic’s first half red card and fell behind instantly via Yuta Kokado’s deflected strike but restored parity midway through the second half when club new recruit Macdonald sliced through the area to poke home his first goal in hometown colours – his first since making the move from the Western Sydney Wanderers.
Macdonald’s equalizer provoked a frantic reaction from Bonnyrigg who created chance after chance in a one-way second half but were somehow unable to force the ball over the line with goalkeeper Justin Pasfield and the Wollongong outfit atoning for their languid first-half boilover to secure a heroic point on the road.
Sunday
Sydney Olympic 2 – Blacktown Spartans 1 at Belmore Sports Ground
Sydney Olympic claimed three valuable points at home by defeating Blacktown Spartans 2-1 in an entertaining but gritty encounter in its Round 11 PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s clash at Belmore Sports Ground.
The game could have gone either way had the Spartans taken advantage of their chances.
A red card for Nick Tsattalios who was sent off for a second yellow card added extra intruige to the second half but Olympic was able to hang on with only ten men.
Goals to Jacob Boutoubia and Michael Gatatzis helped the home side to a 2-0 lead but a Shu Sasaki goal in the 68th minute ensured it wasn’t going to be a straight forward win for Grant Lee’s Olympic team.
Parramatta FC 0 – Rockdale City Suns 1 at Melita Stadium
Rockdale City Suns has stretched its unbeaten run to seven matches with a 1-0 win against Parramatta FC at Melita Stadium during its PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s clash on Sunday.
A 68th minute strike to Blake Ricciuto was the difference as the boys from Ilinden held on for a hard fought victory.
It wasn’t all one way traffic though with Parramatta threatening right up until the final whistle.
The win consolidates Rockdale’s standing on the table in fourth while Parramatta sit in seventh.
Sydney United 58 4 – Hakoah Sydney City East 1 at Sydney United Sports Centre.
Sydney United 58 continued their dominance over the PlayStation®4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition with a 4-1 victory over Hakoah Sydney City East at Sydney United Sports Centre.
Chris Payne and Panni Nikas were the chief destroyers with the former scoring a fantastic hat trick before Hakoah substitute Adrian De Jong struck back. Nikas responded within a minute to give United 58 their three-goal cushion again.
The match will be remembered for an exquisite goal by Payne who combined with Nikas on the edge of the box to score a goal that had the United 58 faithful left in awe.
Sydney United 58 hold top spot at the completion of Round 11 with 28 points.
Competition new boys Hakoah finish the week in eighth spot with 12 points.
