In a huge coup for the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition, APIA Leichhardt Tigers have snapped up All Whites International Andre De Jong for the remainder of the season.

De Jong, no stranger to the NPL NSW Men’s competition audience, was a starring member in Hakoah Sydney City East’s team for the last few seasons as well as winning a spot in the Ultra Football Team of the Year.

The attacking midfielder will no doubt add further steel to John Calleja’s squad up top and will assist the likes of Chris Payne, Franco Parisi, Corey Biczo and Sean Symons to name a few.

De Jong as expected to make his debut this Sunday at Lambert Park as the Tigers face the Rockdale City Suns in a blockbuster affair.

Courted by several NPL NSW Men’s clubs as well as interest in the A-League during the off-season, De Jong also caught the attention of overseas suitors but it was the APIA Leichhardt Tigers that landed the Kiwi International as he hopes he can work his magic in assisting the club with some silverware this year.
