Sydney FC young guns ready for PSG
Three young Sydney FC NPL NSW Men’s First graders have been selected to travel to Suzhou China with their A-League team mates on Saturday when the club prepares to take on Euro giants Paris Saint-Germain next week.
The three players have been training with the A-League squad during the pre-season and have been rewarded by Head Coach Steve Corica with selection in the twenty man squad.
Ryan Teague the current Joeys captain will gain further experience at the top level as he prepares for the upcoming U17 World Cup being held in Brazil later this year. The holding midfielder has been in top form recently in the NPL playing against much older and experienced opponents.
Jordi Swibel is the clubs NPL 1st grade top scorer despite missing seven weeks through injury this season carrying on from a 15 goal haul in 2018. He marked his Sydney FC senior debut with a goal in a 6-0 pre-season trial game win last week and is a clinical finisher with an eye for goal.
Harry Van der Saag has also come along in leaps and bounds and is a versatile player that every team needs as he can fill in across several positions in the defence and midfield. A no nonsense and robust player he leaves his mark with tenacious defending and clever ball work.
They will also be joined by fellow NPL players and A-League contracted Tom Heward-Belle, Joel King and Luke Ivanovic.
The match is being played at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre in Suzhou (which sits 100 kilometres north west of Shanghai) on Tuesday, 30th July 2019 kick off 10:00pm (AEST) and will be broadcast live on BEIN Sports Channel 513.
