Alec Urosevski – New father, new season

Rockdale Ilinden FC’s star attacker Alec Urosevski is no stranger to pre-season training however for 2020 he enters it as a new father.

“Definitely it’s new challenges all around this year but I’m looking forward to it and all it brings on and off the field.

“Steve Zoric has got us working very hard, the hardest pre-season I’ve ever had at Rockdale and everyone is looking forward to the challenge with excitement.”

Morale within the playing group is high having conceded just a solitary goal in their regular pre-season games (excluding the Maso Cup tournament).

“We’re ready to go next week at home in the season opener against Blacktown City here at Ilinden Sports Centre and everyone is together and working for one another.

“ Everyone is expecting to have a big year and wants to win.”

From humble beginnings, Rockdale rightly expect high quality performances on the field and Urosevski is no exception.

“A club like Rockdale expects Top Five as a minimum requirement every year and there is no reason why this year should be any different and we’ll be doing everything possible to ensure it happens of course but we won’t be putting pressure on ourselves.

“We’ll go out and play our football and if we do that, results will take care of themselves.”

Urosevski is a polite, quietly spoken young man who readily admits partner, Tatiana, does most of the sleepless night work with baby Tommy that allows him to concentrate on the football side of things.

“I’m very lucky to have them both and I couldn’t imagine life without them, I feel blessed.”

Rockdale Ilinden kick-off their campaign this Sunday against Manly United at Ilinden Sports Centre (4:30pm) in a match that always produces a quality match.
