Round 6 proved to be one of the most compelling ones yet as five out of the six matches took place, following the Friday night wash-out between the Mt Druitt Town Rangers v Marconi Stallions.

A couple of teams enjoyed having multiple entries with Sydney Olympic bagging three in goalkeeper Nick Sorras and defender Ben Van Meurs both of which would be happy with keeping a clean sheet in their 2-0 victory over the Sutherland Sharks on Saturday. Adding to that list was Irishman and the club’s prized Signing Roy O’Donovan who grabbed a brace in that match at Seymour Shaw Park.

Rockdale Ilinden’s 2-0 win at Sydney United 58 also earned three of its players a place in this week’s ‘Team of the Week’.

Mitchell Stamatellis patrolled the defensive midfield duties superbly while the club’s attack force in Alec Urosevski and young gun Alex Masciovecchio, who had his first start for 2022 since joining, were too hot to handle at Edensor Park on Sunday.

Sydney FC’s thrilling 4-3 victory against APIA Leichhardt in one of the matches of the season thus far saw two players rise to the occasion.

Defender Nathan Grimaldi and midfielder Oscar Priestman were both standouts in the Sky Blues’ triumph which saw them grab the lead after six rounds.

Manly United too had a great weekend, defeating the Wollongong Wolves 2-0.

Defender Jimmy Oates kept things sounds at the back while midfielder Thomas Fay was outstanding as well as scoring a ‘worldie’ in what could be one of the ‘Goals of the Season’.

Lastly, Blacktown City skipper Matt Lewis got himself amongst the elite eleven this week marshalling his side to a 3-1 win, as well as getting himself on the scoresheet twice, from the spot.

Congrats to all players for their inclusions in this week’s Round 6 NPL NSW Men’s ‘Team of the Week’.
