St George City building for a big 2023 season
One club not to underestimate in the 2023 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition will be newly promoted side St George City.
St George City continues to be a success story having had 3 promotions in a short period of time to establish themselves as an NPL club.
Led by experienced coach and former footballer Mirko Jurilj along with Technical Director Aytek Genc and assistant Huss Akil, the club moved swiftly in re-signing twelve of its 2022 squad members that earnt them promotion into the top-flight with the likes of Brendan Hooper, Mackenzie Syron, Alex Kyriacou, Matthew Keremelevski, Dylan Craus, Stavros Palapanis, Julian Dal Bianco, Paolo Mitry, Nathan Roberts, Josh Keremelevski, Jordan Morfitis and skipper Tarik Ercan all penning deals.
As many as eleven new faces will don the St George City kit at Penshurst Park with the Petratos brothers Makis and Kosta headlining the recruits along with former Western Sydney Wanderer NPL skipper Dean Pelekanos, former A-League defender Daniel Alessi and ex-Sydney Olympic attacker Marley Peterson.
The likes of former SD Raider Franco Maya, ex-Newcastle Jet Jack Kenny, former Hakoah attacker Dominic Cox, Andrew Vlahadamis and ex-Wanderers young guns Thomas Lopez and Aiden Mostofi have also made the move to Jurilj’s camp with the squad breaking up on the 24th of December before resuming training on the 2nd of January 2023.
