Manly United young guns Marcus and Lachlan Lal are set to represent the Fijian Under-20’s World Cup side as they prepare for the big stage whilst taking part in the national team’s preparations in the Gold Coast.

The 23rd edition of the FIFA U-20’s World Cup will be held in Argentina kicking off on the 20th of May where Fiji have been drawn in Group B taking on the likes of the USA, Ecuador, and Slovakia.

Both Marcus and Lachlan are following in the footsteps of their father Jason who was also a Fijian international and was also a well known footballer in NSW having played at the highest levels in the state.

Lachlan Lal has already gained some experience on the international stage, having represented Fiji at the U-19 Oceania Championship. The team finished in second place, after a 3-0 loss to New Zealand in the final. Marcus was unfortunately unable to join his brother at the tournament due to paperwork delays. However, he continued to support his brother from afar, and is now excited to join him in representing Fiji at the U-20 World Cup.

The Lal brothers will undoubtedly be eager to make their mark on the tournament.

With their talent, dedication, and the support of their fellow teammates, they are sure to represent Fiji with pride and passion.

Both have made their marks on the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition and will no doubt use this tournament as an opportunity to showcase their skills to the rest of the world.
