Prodanovic appointed Newcastle Jets assistant coach

The Sutherland Sharks have bid farewell to Head Coach Damir Prodanovic who was appointed as the Newcastle Jets’ A-League Men’s Assistant Coach for the upcoming season.
Prodanovic will join fellow new coach and another former National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s alumni Robbie Stanton who was appointed as the club’s Head Coach for the 2023-2024 A-League Men’s season.
Taking charge of the Sharks at the start of the 2023 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s season, Prodanovic changed the mentality of the playing structure at the club which resulted in the team playing some of the best free-flowing attractive football in the competition.
Following his move to the Jets, Prodanovic thanked the club as well as former Socceroo Assistant Ante Milicic for their belief in him.
“I want to thank the club for showing faith in me and I really do hope that the boys continue on with Panny (Nikas) taking charge for the remainder of the year.
“I also want to thank Ante Milicic for all his mentoring.
“He gave me all the knowledge to even have a chance to progress.”
In an official club statement, the Sutherland Sharks thanked Prodanovic for his services this season.
“We would like to thank Damir for all his hard work and dedication and would like to wish him all the best in his football endevours.”
Former Sharks player and NPL NSW Men’s Player of the Year recipient Panny Nikas has been appointed as the club’s head coach in the interim.
