Sydney FC 4 v Central Coast Mariners 1 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights
Sydney FC took care of the Central Coast Mariners in devastating fashion defeating the Central Coast Mariners 4-1 at the Ilinden Sports Centre on Friday night.
The Sky Blues turned the game quickly after the break to earn three points. Marin France equalized in the 54th minute then an own goal and a well taken goal from Tiago Quintal completed the turnaround. They added a fourth with another own goal in stoppage time in a dominant performance.
Central Coast Mariners will be disappointed not to go on with the game after taking the lead in the first half. Luka Smyth slotted home the penalty in the 33rd minute to make it 1-0 before they were pegged back while keeper Jack Warshawsky did save a spot kick to keep them in the game.
Sutherland Sharks 1 v Sydney Olympic 0 at Seymour Shaw – Full Match Report and Highlights
Sutherland Sharks registered its first victory of the 2024 National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW campaign with memorable a 1-0 victory over Sydney Olympic in round 5 on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Seymour Shaw.
Jay McGowan was the star of the afternoon scoring the solitary goal as the Sharks heaped further misery on the Blues who suffered their fourth loss in five matches.
It was a well taken strike on the hour after good lead-up work found the wide man in space to accurately find the back of the net with several Olympic defenders bearing down.
It mattered little for the home fans as Sutherland recorded their first win of the season and the relief was palpable around the ground at the final whistle.
Marconi Stallions 1 v APIA Leichhardt FC 2 at Marconi Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights
In the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW’s answer to the Derby d’Italia, it was the APIA Leichhardt FC who secured a 2-1 victory over rivals Marconi Stallions at Marconi Stadium on Saturday night.
The two heavyweight clubs matched up in front of a crowded stadium at The Palace in a much-anticipated Italian derby.
After a closely matched opening three quarters saw both sides without a goal, the game fired up in the final quarter with three goals giving fans a nail-biting finish.
Nathan Millgate was the first to get on the scoresheet, giving Marconi the advantage in the 73rd minute, but the visitors didn’t wait long to equalise through Stewart in the 77th minute.
APIA Leichhardt substitute Jordan Segreto netted the third of the match, giving the visitors the 2-1 lead in the 91st minute to secure three points away from home.
Western Sydney Wanderers 4 v NWS Spirit FC 1 at Wanderers Football Park – Full Match Report and Highlights
NWS Spirit are still on the search for their first win of the 2024 National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW season after suffering a 4-1 defeat to Western Sydney Wanderers at Wanderers Football Park on Saturday.
A Nathanael Blair hat-trick stole the headlines in what was an important home victory for the Wanderers.
With the game level for much of the second half, three goals in the final 15 minutes from Wanderers was the difference between the two sides as Spirit played the closing stages of the match with ten-men as Ante Bakmaz was given his marching orders.

Wollongong Wolves have defeated Blacktown City in an impressive 1-0 victory at Landen Stadium to move them to third place on the NPL Men’s NSW ladder.
The Wolves had the majority of chances in the match, but were unable to capitalise, with Blacktown City creating opportunities of their own but being outplayed by the away side’s swift counter-attacking moves.
Wollongong grabbed their deserved lead in the 81st minute thanks to a goal from talisman Lachlan Scott, who had been the best and most threatening player on the pitch throughout the match.
Receiving the ball in the attacking half, Scott glided past his opponent and played a one-two, with an energetic run allowing him to receive the ball in the box.
He then feinted past another defender, before passing the ball calmly into the back of the net, past a stranded Tristan Prendergast to earn his side a crucial three points against a strong Blacktown outfit.

Sydney United 58 returned to the winner’s circle following a convincing 3-0 victory over Hills United FC in round 5 of the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition at the Sydney United Sports Centre.
Two first half goals to Matthew Hatch and Shunto Nakamura were followed by a late third in the second half to Aidan Milicevic to seal the deal for Zeljko Kalac’s side.
St George City 1 v St George FC 1 at Penshurst Park – Full Match Report and Highlights
St George City succumbed to a stoppage-time equaliser to draw 1-1 with local rivals St George FC on Sunday night at Penshurst Park.
The hosts were denied by the woodwork on several occasions, but they found the breakthrough through Presley Ortiz early in the second half.
Aeden O’Shea had a valuable impact off the bench for FC, claiming the equaliser in the fourth minute of additional time.
