Sydney FC 0 v Sutherland Sharks 0 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights
Sydney FC followed last week’s hefty defeat to Blacktown City with a clean sheet against Sutherland Sharks, earning them a hard fought 0-0 draw.
Mason Fernandez could have opened the scoring only a couple of minutes in with a penalty, but his tame strike was comfortably stopped by Adam Pavlesic.
Pavlesic continued to be the hero for the home side for much of the game, denying the visitors some golden opportunities from close range, and contributing hugely to a point for his side.
NWS Spirit FC 3 v Hills United 1 at Christie Park – Full Match Report and Highlights
NWS Spirit FC breathed a massive sigh of relief following it’s 3-1 victory over Hills United FC in Round 10 of the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition at Christie Park on Saturday.
The hosts took full control of the contest in the second half which saw them take the three precious points.
Zachary Cianci put the hosts ahead in the 10th minute before Sunday Yona scored to level the match for the visitors just before the break.
The second half belonged to NWS Spirit FC as Jesse Michel and Ollie Wiggin scored respectively to give their club a much-needed victory in front of a healthy crowd.
Marconi 2 v Manly United 1 at Marconi Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights
The Marconi Stallions secured a valuable three points at Marconi Stadium on Saturday evening with a 2-1 victory over Manly United FC.
Manly made the trip to Marconi Stadium hungry for a win, with just one victory to their name in Round 1 of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition, while Marconi were looking to bounce back from a loss to St George City away from home.
The Stallions took hold of the game early on and managed to get on the scoreboard through Franco Maya in the 21st minute before a Daniel Bouman goal took them to two in the 66th minute.
Manly United fought their way back into the match with a goal from Rocco Pelle in the 78th minute, however despite amplified pressure, they weren’t able to challenge Marconi to get more from the match.
St George FC 2 v Wollongong Wolves 2 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights
Ilinden Sports Centre saw a thriller take place as St George FC and the Wollongong Wolves played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in a classic game of two halves on Saturday evening.
St George FC were clearly the better side in the first stanza of play and deservedly led by 2-0 at the break thanks to goals from Nikola Skataric and an own goal by Dylan Ryan but the Wollongong Wolves reversed the fortunes in the second half and, they too, deservedly scored a brace to equalise and earn a fair point in really enthralling game of football.
Takumi Ofuka and the Dylan Ryan redeeming himself to secure a point for David Carney’s side.
Blacktown City 3 v Central Coast Mariners 1 at Landen Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights
Blacktown City have continued their fine run of form at the ‘fortress’ that is Landen Stadium, putting the Central Coast Mariners to the sword with ease winning 3-1 in Round 10 of the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition.
Joey Gibbs scored just before the break before Jak O’Brien grabbed the games second midway through the second half.
Donatien Niyonkuru struck in the 65th minute as the visitors pushed for an equaliser but it wasn’t to be as Mitch Mallia banged home a great free-kick to gift Blacktown City maximum points.
Western Sydney Wanderers 6 v St George City 1 at Wanderers Football Park – Full Match Report and Highlights
Western Sydney Wanderers blew St George City away, with an emphatic first half guiding the young guns to a 6-1 smashing of their opponents at Wanderers Football Park on Sunday.
They played a flying first 15 minutes, with goals from Adam Bugarija, Marcus Younis, and Aydan Hammond putting them comfortably ahead.
Jordan Roberts tucked away a penalty in the 17th minute for St George as the away side looked to get back into the game.
However, Andrew Christiansen’s team showed no signs of letting up, with Ryley Hollingdale and Alex Badaloto grabbing goals before halftime.
In a quieter second half, Nathanael Blair got his name on the scoresheet to round out an outstanding afternoon for the Wanderers.
Rockdale Ilinden 3 v Sydney Olympic 2 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights
Rockdale Ilinden claimed maximum points in Round 10 of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s ‘Match of the Round with a 3-2 victory over arch-rivals Sydney Olympic at the Ilinden Sports Centre in front of 1800 spectators on Sunday.
The hosts had a first half to saviour playing some of the best football this league has seen all year as they took an early lead thanks to a stunner by Brayden Sorge and then goals to Lachie Constable and yet another quality individual goal by Brendan Cholakian – all 3 cancelled out Roy O’Donovan’s penalty before the Olympic marksman added his second via a deflection but it was to be too little too late as the hosts claimed all the points.
APIA Leichhardt 1 v Sydney United 58 FC 5 at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Field – Full Match Report and Highlights
Sydney United 58 have defeated APIA Leichhardt 5-1 in a cohesive, clinical performance at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre.
United 58 opened the scoring through Aidan Milicevic after a precise cross from Matthew Hatch, before a delightful chip from Patrick Antelmi doubled their advantage.
Antelmi earned his second with a well-taken goal in the 30th minute, before Hatch made it four with a sensational strike into the top-right corner.
In the second half, a well taken strike from Shunta Nakamura capped off a five-star United 58 performance, which was only blemished by a Jack Stewart penalty.
