Manly United 1 v Sydney FC 0 at Cromer Park – Full Match Report and Highlights

Manly United have collected a crucial fifth win of the season after beating Sydney FC 1-0 at Cromer Park on Friday night.

The hosts were dominant than the scoreline suggests as despite the visiting ‘Sky Blues’ seeing a goal disallowed for offside in the 37th minute, Manly United pushed the Sydney FC hard for most of the game.

There was no stronger evidence of that when Peter Kekeris scored from the spot after a handball in the box only minutes into the start of the second half.

Manly continuing to solidify Cromer Park as a fortress, as they victory has seen them now unbeaten in their last four clashes at home.

Western Sydney Wanderers 2 v Hills United 0 at Wanderers Football Park – Full Match Report and Highlights

A 10-man Western Sydney Wanderers turned out a composed showing to down Hills United on a pouring Saturday afternoon at Wanderers Football Park.

Aydan Hammond gave the Wanderers the lead before the half-hour mark. Not long after this, they were reduced to 10 players when Hammond saw red.

They took this slender advantage into the break, and they were rarely troubled by Hills in the second period with Marcus Younis adding a second 57 minutes in.

St George City 1 v Sydney Olympic 0 at Penshurst Park – Full Match Report and Highlights

St George City FA have gained an important 1-0 victory over Sydney Olympic with an impressive performance at Penshurst Park.

The lone goal of the game came in the 25th minute, courtesy of a sensational run from central-back Matthew Keremelevski.

The central defender chested down a Sydney Olympic clearance out of the air and and strode forwards with intent, before exchanging a slick one-two with the active Presley Ortiz.

Keremelevski took another positive touch forwards to the centre of the edge of the box, and thundered home a terrific clinical strike into the bottom right corner to open the scoring at Penshurst Park.

It was a goal worthy of winning any game, and despite St George squandering a myriad of opportunities to double their lead, they held on to secure a crucial three points against Olympic.

Blacktown City 3 v St George FC 0 at Landen Stadium – Full Match Report and Highlights

Blacktown City asserted its dominance and continued its course to challenge for this year’s silverware following a 3-0 victory over St George FC at Landen Stadium on Sunday.

This was off the back of the club’s 5-1 win in midweek in Round 7 of the Australia Cup, a victory that saw Mark Crittenden’s men book a spot in this year’s coveted Round of 32.

Travis Major set up the first goal with a delicate chip into the box after good work down the right flank for Danny Choi to steal in at the back stick to head home the opener with the only goal of the first 45-minutes.

Jak O’Brien, recently celebrating his 100th game for the club against Hill United, netted the second, when being in the right place at the right time to finish off another well worked City move.

The goal of the game came two minutes into stoppage time at the end of the match when the ball was played into substitute Joey Gibbs who laid off a perfectly timed pass for O’Brien to lash home and it was lights out.
