Blacktown City FC’s prolific marksman Jak O’Brien has praised the standard of the NPL Men’s NSW competition, noting that this year’s league has been one of the toughest it’s seen for a while.

The team is currently sitting in fourth place on the table after twenty rounds, with only four points currently separating the teams in second through to sixth behind current competition leaders Rockdale Ilinden.

“It’s a very strong competition the NPL and every team can beat anyone on the day, there’ s a lot of quality in the teams,” O’Brien stated on Football NSW’s official Competition podcast.

City are fighting for silverware this year with O’Brien stating it’s the Blacktown way to do what it takes to win everything on offer.

“Every competition we want to be in, we want to give it a red-hot crack and we want to win everything.”

Blacktown City was the last team to lift the Championship trophy for their Grand Final win in 2022 and have also progressed to the semi-finals of this year’s Waratah Cup.
