The Warren Grieve era has officially kicked off with the new Wollongong Wolves coach announcing the majority of his squad for the upcoming National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW season.

The Wolves will count on a number of their 2024 players with the likes of Harrison Buesnel, Darcy Madden, Oliver Yates, Dylan Ryan, Banri Kanaizumi, Damon Gray, Sebastian Hernandez, Dax Kelly, Lachlan Scott, Alex Masciovecchio and Ben Giason all resigning for the new season.

The South Coast club have managed to capture a couple of handy new recruits with Solomon Islands international Raphael Lea’i one to watch out for. The crafty 21-year-old comes from spending time in South Australia with Adelaide City.

South Korean born midfielder Sim Woon Sub has also made the move to the Wolves boasting a wealth of professional experience, having played extensively across various leagues in Asia, including stints in Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Former Wolves junior James Anagnostopoulos makes a return to the club after spending some time in the Illawarra Premier League as does fan favourite Marcus Beattie.

One player that is sure to make an impact on the Wolves squad is the lure of ace attacker Nicholas Olsen. The 29-year-old played for the likes of the Sutherland Sharks, APIA Leichhardt FC and Sydney United 58 in the NPL Men’s NSW competition in his early stages of his career before commencing his overseas journey.

Grieve will announce a couple more new recruits before the season gets underway.

The Wolves kick off its 2025 campaign with a huge away clash against APIA Leichhardt FC at Lambert Park on Saturday, 8th of February.
