Electric Auglah finding his feet at Ilinden

After making the move to reigning Premiers Rockdale Ilinden in the off-season, star winger Ali Auglah took the time to speak to Football NSW about the adjustment to the NPL Men’s NSW competition, his recent form and more.
Joining Rockdale ahead of their 2025 campaign, Auglah reflected on what he described as a ‘fresh start’.
“It was good to start fresh before the beginning of the season,” said Auglah.
“I’ve enjoyed training in Rockdale.”
After a steady start to the season, Auglah has exploded for his club, scoring six league goals in his last three games, as well as two in an Australia Cup qualifier against Sutherland Sharks.
Two crucial goals helped his side to a 3-1 win over Sydney United 58, before he netted a hat-trick the next week in an 8-1 thrashing of the Western Sydney Wanderers.
In his last match, Auglah scored once more in a 3-1 win over the Central Coast Mariners, with Rockdale having won their last four league games on the bounce to currently sit second on the ladder.
“I think things kicked off well at the beginning,” said Auglah on his and Rockdale’s recent form.
“It was a slower start than I wanted, but now things are starting to pick up.
“It’s always good to get back to scoring, and more importantly playing well as long side the goals and assists.”
Looking ahead to Round 13, Rockdale will face off against Sydney Olympic in what looks set to be an exhilarating NPL Men’s NSW match, with Auglah looking to score for a fifth game in a row.
With the likes of Teng Kuol, Cyrus Dehmie, Alec Urosevski and – of course – Auglah donning the pitch, it looks set to be a scilitalting clash between two attacking sides.
When asked about the game, Auglah spoke in a calm, composed manner, saying “It is important for us to stay focused and to try to play well.
“That will be crucial in getting us the win ultimately.”
Auglah and his side will take on Olympic at Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre, with the kickoff 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
