Young gun Farah Koko hunting for a finals series finish with Manly

With a major clash against Sydney United 58 this weekend, we spoke to Manly United rising star Farah Koko on the big match, Manly’s season so far and his recent form.
Koko joined Manly from Western Sydney Wanderers’ academy at the end of last season, in an exciting signing for the club.
“Manly United is a great club,” said Koko.
“I came to the club at the end of last season injured and they still took me in.
“I’m very grateful to Patrick (Zwaanswijk) for believing in me.
“It was pretty easy for me to settle in as the players, staff and community were so welcoming.”
Koko joined a rising Manly United side, who have had a strong campaign so far, sitting seventh in the league, four points off the top six with a game in hand.
With six wins, five draws and five losses from 16 games so far, Manly have plenty to work with in the second half of the season.
“Our campaign this season we’ve had a few ups and downs, but we’ve got a strong squad and believe we can make that top six,” said Koko.
“Every game matters from here.”
Koko has been a key performer for Manly in recent weeks, scoring three goals in eight matches, including a crucial equaliser in a 1-1 draw with reigning Premiers Rockdale Ilinden.
“It’s been a good season so far,” Koko said when asked about his campaign.
“I’ve worked hard to stay consistent to reach my goals.
“The boys have been pushing me and when you go to training in a great environment it only helps you be better.
“But there is always more to work on and I’m focused on maintaining that momentum and finishing the season strong.”
This weekend, Manly will face off against Sydney United 58, who are currently sixth on the ladder.
A win for Manly would take them just one point off a finals place, with a game in hand over every club around them, while a loss would see United 58 move further from the chasing pack.
It’s a crucial match in the context of their season and the top-six race, and promises to be an exhilarating clash at Sydney United Sports Centre.”
“It’s a massive game for us, we know what’s at stake, and we’re fully focused on the challenge ahead,” said Koko.
“Sydney United are a strong side with quality across the pitch, but we believe in ourselves and if we put our best foot forward, it will give us the best chance to come away with a result.”
