Elimination Finals Review – NPL Men’s NSW

The Marconi Stallions and Rockdale Ilinden prevailed in their Elimination Semi Final matches played on Wednesday evening which booked their Preliminary Finals tickets this Sunday following their victories.

At the Palace, the Stallions triumphed in a stellar clash against arch rivals Sydney United 58. winning 3-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time.

Goals were scored by Dom Costanzo and Anthony Tomelic in normal time, though it was James Hilton that proved the key difference as he made three match-winning saves in the shootout, confirming Marconi’s spot in a huge Semi Final against staunch rivals APIA Leichhardt this Sunday at Lambert Park.

While Rockdale Ilinden also advanced to the NPL Men’s NSW Semi-Final after beating Blacktown City in their Elimination Final at Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre.

The home side got their goal in the sixth minute, with Isaac Danzo producing a beautiful strike from outside the box to eventually advance them past the first stage of finals.

Rockdale will take on Premiers NWS Spirit FC at Christie Park this Sunday afternoon.

The 2025 NPL Men’s NSW Grand Final will be hosted at Jubilee Stadium on Saturday, 13th of September.
