St George FC have made a major statement ahead of the 2026 National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW season, securing the signature of former Socceroo midfielder Terry Antonis.

The 32-year-old will call Barton Park home after an extensive professional career that has seen him feature in the A-League Men, earn three international caps for Australia, and ply his trade abroad in Greece, South Korea and most recently Thailand.

Antonis arrives as one of the competition’s most credentialed recruits and is expected to add composure, experience and class to the Saints’ midfield as new head coach Raphael Marie looks to build a side capable of challenging in the upcoming campaign.

St George FC captain and ace defender Troy Danaskos believes Antonis’ arrival will have a significant impact on the group both on and off the pitch.

“Terry is a massive signing for us. He brings top-level pedigree, having played at elite levels both here and overseas, and that kind of experience is invaluable,” Danaskos said.

“His composure on the ball, game intelligence, and leadership will be key for us this season, especially in the big moments. He knows what it takes to win, and that winning mentality and game management will be key for us this season.”

Antonis will link up with a number of new faces at Barton Park, including Christopher McStay, Jaden Casella, Nicholas Sorras, Jake Trew, Sebastian La Luz, Stevan Stanic-Floody, Harry Keys and Katsuyoshi Kimishima as St George FC reshape their squad ahead of 2026.

Adding a unique family storyline to the season, Antonis’ younger brother George will also feature in the Football NSW competitions in 2026 following his move to League One Men’s side Hurstville Zagreb.

Antonis is set to make his first appearance in the Red and White when St George FC open their campaign against Wollongong Wolves in a Round 1 clash on Saturday 7 February at Barton Park.
