A Decade Of Success: Marconi Stallions Farewell Tsekenis And Papoythis
Marconi Stallions FC have confirmed that Head Coach Peter Tsekenis and Peter Papoythis will conclude their respective roles with the club at the end of the 2026 NPL Men’s NSW season and the 2026 Australian Championship campaign.
The decision marks the conclusion of a remarkable 10-season era for the pair, who have played a significant role in shaping one of the most successful periods in the club’s recent history.
Together, Tsekenis and Papoythis guided Marconi through more than 300 first-grade matches, delivering sustained success, developing players and strengthening the club’s position among the leading football organisations in NSW.
During their tenure, the Stallions achieved several major milestones, including promotion back to NPL Men’s NSW in 2018, winning the 2019 Waratah Cup, securing the 2024 NPL Men’s NSW Championship, and reaching the final of the inaugural Australian Championship in 2025.
Beyond the silverware, Tsekenis and Papoythis have been instrumental in developing and promoting talented players, with many progressing into A-League environments and internationally recognised clubs.
Their commitment to player development, professionalism and building a strong football culture has left a lasting impact on Marconi Stallions FC.
Marconi Stallions FC Chairman and Board acknowledged the significant contribution made by both coaches throughout their decade of service.
