Sport engenders qualities of team, camaraderie, mateship and passion.

Every once in a while, individuals excel and make an impact to become legends.

As a result, some are made Life Members, have banners erected or grounds dedicated to historically validate their impact on a club or sporting institution.

Sunday, July 23rd, Blacktown will host Sydney United 58 in Round 24 in a ‘Back to Blacktown’ homecoming for all former Blacktown players and officials.

The game will be another critical round in the NPL NSW Men’s Premiership race, especially for Blacktown City as they drive to defend their 2022 Premiership.

To add a special touch, Blacktown City FC will unveil the Graham Crawhall ‘GC’ Members bar on the day.  GC was a ‘Life Member’ of Blacktown City, Manager to Mark Crittenden for over 20 years and last year was awarded the Valentine Medal for services to Football NSW.  Sadly, GC passed away earlier this year and Blacktown City will pay special tribute to one of their most memorable members by unveiling his own Members bar.

GC not only made an impact for Blacktown City FC but throughout the state of NSW for his dedication to the sport and commitment to the game.

“His service to the game, and in particular Blacktown City, was monumental and impactful.  Everyone in the game new ‘GC’ for not only his passion for the game but his ability to administratively deliver at all levels”, said Blacktown City Executive Chairman, Bob Turner.

“I am new to football and only got to know GC in his last year or so but there was never a bad word said about the man who had such an impact on our football club”, Turner added.

Sunday, July 23rd will be a special day for Blacktown City FC as the club immortalises one of its great in Graham ‘GC’ Crawhall.
