Steven Zoric appointed Sutherland Sharks Head Coach
National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s outfit Sutherland Sharks have appointed Steven Zoric as the new head coach for the 2024 season.
Zoric returns to the coaching helm replacing Panny Nikas who took over the club midway through the 2023 NPL NSW Men’s season following Damir Prodanovic’s departure to the Newcastle Jets.
In an official club statement, the Sharks were thrilled with the announcement of the 49-year-old coach.
“Steven Zoric brings a wealth of experience and a passion for the game that aligns perfectly with the club’s vision for the future.
“His appointment underscores the commitment of the Sutherland Sharks Football Club to fostering excellence on and off the field, as well as providing the best possible environment and pathway for its players to thrive.
“A respected figure in the football community Zoric has a track record of developing young talent and achieving success at various levels of the game makes him the ideal candidate to lead Sutherland Sharks Football Club into the NPL NSW Men’s 2024 season.”
His appointment will add new fuel to the local derby against his former side Rockdale Ilinden, a club he coached as the two parted company at the end of the 2022 NPL NSW Men’s season.
The Sharks finished in 14th place on the NPL NSW Men’s ladder and will be hoping for a better finish in 2024.
The club’s last piece of silverware was the 2012 Waratah Cup while they finished Premiers in 2008 and Champions in 2009.
