New Kids on the block St George FC gearing up for big 2024 season
Newly promoted National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW side St George FC will be looking towards causing a few major upsets as coach Jané Talcevski and his troops commence their journey in the state’s top-flight men’s competition.
Kicking off their 2024 campaign on Friday 16th of February, St George FC will travel to Cromer Park to face Manly United in the competition’s opening round encounter.
Having signed the majority of its playing group that won promotion in 2023 knocking out Mt Druitt Town Rangers in the process, St George FC will have new recruits Nikola Skataric, Peter Grozos, Caio De Godoy, George Daniel and Thomas Brown ready to go for the new season. De Godoy, a former Australian youth international defender will be one to watch out for. Caio has joined the club following his time playing in NPL Victoria with the Port Melbourne Sharks and Green Gully Cavaliers.
The club has re-signed club captain Troy Danaskos, Daniel Axford, Sebastian Cerecedo, Andrew Di Blasio, Mitch Heapy, Harry Jones, Nicholas Kalogerou, Alexander Malfara, Alexander Morabito, Anthony Morabito, Patrick O’Shea, Jayden Seeto, Jessie Spang, Luke Vlastelica and 2023 League One Men’s Player of the Year Conor Quilligan.
The club’s first home game will be a tough round 2 clash against Blacktown City FC at the Ilinden Sports Centre on Saturday, 24th of February.
Round 5 will feature the club’s highly anticipated clash against local rivals St George City at Penshurst Park on Sunday, 10th of March.
