Ilinden and Olympic Legends set to clash this Sunday
Ilinden Sports Centre will be the place to be as a special legends game featuring past Socceroo and NSL greats will take to the pitch prior to the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW’s Match of the Round between Rockdale Ilinden and Sydney Olympic on Sunday.
Kicking off at 2:30pm, the Legends match will feature a number of past household names that dazzled the many football pitches across the nation.
The likes of players such as Zlatko Nastevski, Zoran Naumovski, Steve Bozinovski, Chris Kalantzis, Peter Katholos, Milan Blagojevic, Pablo Cardozo and Zlatko Arambasic to name a few will feature amongst many other former legendary stars.
Both clubs are pushing for this to become an annual event between the two historical clubs in NSW.
Ilinden Club President Dennis Loether was looking forward to a massive day set to hit Sydney’s South in an action-packed day of events leading into the senior Men’s match at 4pm.
“Come on down to the Ilinden Sports Centre this Sunday for what promises to be an epic day of football.
“We of course have the big first grade game which for this week. With both sides winning on the weekend, it will be an exciting contest.
“Before that, we have a special treat, a game between a host of legends of both Rockdale and Olympic.
“The squads are brimming with names who have proudly worn the respective jerseys of Rockdale Ilinden and Sydney Olympic.
“All football fans are invited to attend both fixtures.
“The day will also see the Ilinden Sports Centre’s state of the art new LED lights in action for the first time for a Rockdale home game.
“The bar will be open; the outdoor bar will also be open with beer on tap and a number of special food selections fresh from the rotisserie.
“What better way to spend your Sunday afternoon, all kids receive free entry as well,”
