Sydney FC have snapped up former Rockdale Ilinden quality shostopper Harrison Devenish-Mears until the end of the A-League 2025-26 season.

The 27-year-old starred for Rockdale Ilinden’s push for silverware this season, caught the attention of the Sky Blues following a string of quality performances in the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition.

Sydney-born, the custodian was recruited internationally to play in the United States college system with the South Florida Bulls, before commencing his professional career in Europe with Romanian powerhouse FC Rapid Bucuresti in 2020.

Moves to fellow Romanian clubs SSU Politehnica Timisoara and CS Tunari followed before he returned home last season to sign with current NPL NSW Men’s leaders Rockdale Illinden who gave him the opportunity to show his worth at state level where he was recognised by Sydney FC Head Coach Ufuk Talay.

Ilinden have since secured the services of goalkeeper Nick Sorras for the remainder of the season.

The 26-year-old returns to the club he once played for following time with Sydney FC’s NPL side, Sydney Olympic FC and Perth Glory in the A-League.
