PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 Round 14 Review

THE PS4 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s 1 competition was awash with nostalgia and history as the clubs celebrated the inaugural Heritage Round.

Blacktown City and APIA Leichhardt Tigers remain in first and second after wins, but Bonnyrigg White Eagles climbed to third thanks to a win over Sydney Olympic.
At the other end of the table, Marconi Stallions are losing touch with the rest of the table.
ROUND 14 REVIEW

APIA Leichhardt Tigers 6-2 Marconi Stallions, at Lambert Park

APIA Leichhardt were in superb touch on Saturday night, as they thrashed their great rivals Marconi Stallions.
Blake Powell’s golden run continued as he scored his 19th and 20th goals of the season in the romp.
Marc Warren, Nathan Millgate, Franco Parisi, and Nathan Elasi all found the back of the net as well as APIA refused to relent in the face of a healthy lead.
Anthony Flood, in the first half, and Jacob Ott in the second half, scored for the Stallions.
Bonnyrigg White Eagles 3-1 Sydney Olympic, at Bonnyrigg Sports Centre

Bonnyrigg White Eagles leapfrogged Sydney Olympic into third place with a strong 3-1 win at home on Saturday night.
Bonnyrigg made the perfect start when Dylan Fox found the back of the net without even ten minutes on the clock.
One became two when the ever threatening Robbie Younis doubled Bonnyrigg’s lead, before Harris Gaitatzis pulled one back from the spot.
Yuta Kokada’s second half goal put the game to bed for the White Eagles however, who may begin to loom large in the rear view mirrors of Blacktown City and APIA.
Sydney United 58 FC 1-2 Blacktown Spartans, at Sydney United Sports Centre

Sydney United 58 crashed to a third consecutive defeat, going down to Blacktown Spartans at Edensor Park.
The match started perfectly for the Reds, who took the lead through Koen Bosma early on.
It should have been the perfect platform for United 58 to kick on, but two goals in two minutes in the second half put paid to their ambitions of taking all three points.
Firstly Shu Sasaki, and then Josh Da Silva, scored for the visitors, who held on in the face of a late onslaught by the Reds, to take all three points back to Rooty Hill.
Parramatta FC 0-1 Blacktown City, at Melita Stadium

Parramatta FC faced a tough task at home to the ladder leaders, but they were far from disgraced in the 1-0 defeat.
The Eagles, shorn of Patrick Gatt and Josh Symons at the back, put in a spirited performance, and only an eighth minute goal by Travis Major separated the sides.
Major had endured a difficult return to the club after his time at the Central Coast Mariners, but he has now scored in back-to-back games.
Blacktown City will hope for more of the same too, with Joe Gibbs out injured.
Rockdale City Suns 4-0 Manly United, at Ilinden Sports Centre

Rockdale City showed their class with a 4-0 win over Manly United at home.
Manly were probably better than the scoreline suggested, however the record books will state they scored none and conceded four.
Marko Jesic scored a hat trick, and Hristijian Tanoski the other, as the Suns recorded a very good victory.
South Coast Wolves 3-0 Sutherland Sharks, at WIN Stadium

Jacob Timpano recorded his first win as South Coast Wolves coach, as his side beat Sutherland Sharks on Sunday afternoon.
Brendan Griffin scored twice, either side of a Peter Simonoski goal, as the Wolves put the Sharks in the shade.
The win is a welcome monkey off Timpano’s back, after the local legend took over the reigns from Nahuel Arrarte, who did such a spectacularly good job at the Wollongong based club last year.
