In a huge coup for the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition as well as Hakoah Sydney City East, star striker Andre De Jong has won a call up to the All White’s squad set to face Canada in an international friendly in Spain this Sunday.

De Jong, who rose to fame in NSW with an outstanding opening season in NSW’s top tier competition where he was part of the 2017 Team of the Year, flew out of Sydney on Sunday following Hakoah Sydney City East’s 3-0 spectacular victory over 2017 Champions Manly United, where he linked up with the squad and new All White’s head coach Fritz Schmid.

Joining De Jong as debutants for the All Whites, Nikko Boxall, Adam Mitchel, Niko Kirwan and Sarpreet Singh also got the nod for their first taste of international football.

De Jong will be missed by Hakoah coach Gavin Rae as they face the Sutherland Sharks this Saturday at Hensley Athletic Field.

It’s now the second player in the NPL NSW Men’s competition in a matter of weeks to have won a call up for their respective national team as Blacktown City FC’s Mitchell Mallia won himself a spot with Malta.
