They may have been the NPL NSW Men’s new boys in 2019 but the Mt Druitt Town Rangers sure made a strong statement finishing in seventh spot, just missing out on playing finals football.

Coach Aidan Desmond has once again pushed his chargers in what will be a huge 2020 season as the Rangers hope to go one better, continuing with the trend of seeing the club develop as well as look at being potential NPL NSW Men’s title contenders.

The recruitment drive has been healthy as the Popondetta Park faithful will have a former AFC Asian Champions League winner in their roster with ex-Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Mateo Poljak penning a deal with the club. Poljak had minimal game time at the Sutherland Sharks in 2019 so he will be hoping to sure up the team’s defensive midfield duties in 2020.

Former Manly United defender Travis Oughtred will be bringing all his experience at top level as he will play a key role in marshalling the club’s backline while promising young gun and ex-Bonnyrigg White Eagles midfielder Aaron Avery has also been brought to the side.

Free-kick specialist and live-wire attacker Hussein Jasli hopes he can reignite his NPL NSW Men’s career by having a strong presence in Desmond’s squad while one of the club’s other major signings, Futsalroos striker Daniel Fogarty will look to be a pest against fellow NPL NSW Men’s opposition with his speed and skill which is sure to be a hit for Desmond and his squad.

The proud club has re-signed a number of their 2019 players including club captain Carlos Saliadarre, Jake Mamone, Solomon Monahan-Vaiika, Blake Thompson, Luke Clifford, Lord Darkoh, Alex Boyadjian, Josh Gould, Toufic Alameddine, Cooper Coskerie and Ishmael Hares.

The ever-ready presence of experienced striker Mirjan Pavlovic will be one to look out for once more while one of the standout imports of 2019 season, Uruguayan sensation Fabricio Fernandez will be pulling the strings in midfield.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers will kick off its 2020 season with a home clash against Sydney FC on the 1st of March at 2pm.
