Due to an Australia Cup Round of 32 fixture set to be played this Sunday as well as players involved in Australia’s Under 16’s competing at the AFF Youth Championships, Sydney FC’s NPL 1st Grade side have officially forfeited the NPL NSW Men’s Round 22 clash against the Mt Druitt Town Rangers at Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre.

The decision to forfeit was made as a last resort due to a depleted squad roster with Sydney FC’s A-League senior side playing its Round of 32 Cup clash against the Central Coast Mariners on the same day.

Several players from the club’s NPL side are set to be utilised for this match while a few other players have been selected in Australia’s Under 16 side set to participate in the AFF Youth Championships held in Jakarta and kicking off on the 2nd of August.

For completeness, the specific 2022 Competition Regulations (click here) regarding the forfeit process and how the outcome of the match is determined can be found within section 2 article 31. Forfeits on page 21.
