Mt Druitt Town Rangers coach Stewart Montgomery is hoping for a marked improvement as he prepares his chargers for a massive 2023 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s season.

“2023 is a year of expectation and a time to deliver,” Montgomery stated to Football NSW.

“The focus is on collective objectives game by game and to ensure we are the best version of ourselves across the 30 rounds.

“We have increased our squad depth for the longer season and the club is excited about the talent we have retained as well as the experience and quality we have brought in complimented by quality additions to the coaching staff with Andrew Montgomery (Asstistant Coach), Goalkeeper Coach Lakis Notaras, Strength and Conditioning Coach Frank Mikuletic joining Kris Caliola, Edward Van Der Mulan and Tarek Ibrahim.

“Character, team values, discipline and self-sacrifice are the buzzwords in pre-season and everyone is on the same page and can’t wait to get started.”

The club has retained leading senior players Tarek Elrich, Cooper Coskerie, Solomon Monahan Vaiika, Rhett Dasilva, Jason Perez, Robert Fanella and Jared Macerola who has returned from Portugal.

The Rangers have acquired the services of a new marquee striker from Portugal, Cape Verde born 31-year-old Junior Sena who is one to watch out for following his time in the Liga Portugal with Arouca.

There’s also a sprinkling of household NPL NSW Men’s names that will call Popondetta Park home with former Sydney Olympic midfielder Danial Dias, ex-Blacktown City players Jackson Bandiera and keeper Dylan Niski and former Wollongong Wolves defender Nikola Djordjevic all joining the club.

Ex-Hakoah ace Jacob Esposito has also penned a deal with the club while former Marconi Stallions attacker Anthony Frangie has returned to Sydney after spending a year with NPL Victorian outfit Melbourne Knights.

Montgomery has signalled out a few youngsters that have thus far impressed during pre-season with Nikola Skataric, Stefan Nikolic, Sully Bangura and Andul Faisal doing their bit to push for a starting spot.

The Rangers also announced that two of its Under 20’s players, Ivan Sunjic and Brayden Burr were given senior contracts following good performances in season 2022.

Montgomery’s men will head into the Christmas-New Years break and return to training on the 9th of January 2023.
