Manly United 3 v NWS Spirt FC 2 at Cromer Park – Match Report and Highlights

Manly United have claimed successive wins for the first time all season as they emerged victorious 3-2 winners over NWS Spirit FC at Cromer Park.

Ollie Wiggin opened the scoring in 12th minute however in the 29th and 31st minutes Peter Kekeris scored two sublime goals. One being a thumping spot kick and the other a long-range effort which garnered Manly the advantage. Wiggin unfortunately proceeded to make it three as his header found the back of the wrong net 62 minutes on.

Whilst Richard Darko made for a nervy finish eight minutes from time as he converted his own penalty attempt – and with the game delayed due to lighting issues late on, it certainly was one to remember.

Sydney FC 0 v Sydney United 58 2 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Match Report and Highlights

Sydney United 58 are one of the in-form teams of the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition following a 2-0 win over Sydney FC at the Ilinden Sports Centre on Friday evening.

The Sky Blues will lament their finishing touch in the game. They had plenty of chances but were repelled by the visitors defence. Zachary De Jesus was given his marching orders after his red card in the 74th minute.

Sydney United 58 FC won their third game on the spin with a professional performance in this encounter. Shunta Nakamura made it 1-0 in the 8th minute then Aidan Milicevic doubled the delight in the 72nd minute to confirm the points.

Marconi 4 v St George FC 0 at Marconi Stadium – Match Report and Highlights

The Marconi Stallions crushed St George FC with a 4-0 victory at Marconi Stadium on Saturday night and made a statement to the rest of the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition.

The hosts pleased fans at The Palace with a dominant display that saw Domenic Costanzo open scoring in the 14th minute and Marko Jesic double the Stallions’ advantage before the half-time break.

Jesic was back in action when play recommenced, scoring his second and Marconi’s third at the 50-minute mark before James Temelkovski secured a fourth goal in the 75th minute.

Hills United 2 v St George City 0 at Landen Stadium – Match Report and Highlights

Hills United battled past a valiant 10-man St George City to win 2-0 on Saturday night at Landen Stadium.

Hills went in front in the 34th minute through Nicolai Muller from the spot after Solomon-Johnn Monahan-Vaiika was sent off – this ultimately changed the match for the visitors however City stuck to their guns and played well soon after.

Despite St George remaining a threat even though they were a man down with a plethora of chances and possession, Hills added their second in the fourth minute of additional time through Sunday Yona.

Sydney Olympic 3 v Blacktown City 3 at Belmore Sports Ground – Match Report and Highlights

Blacktown City have secured a 3-3 draw with Sydney Olympic at Belmore Stadium thanks to a late flurry in a highly exciting game of football.

Sydney Olympic found the opening goal with a clinical move and finish into the far corner from Adam Parkhouse, before Jak O’Brien levelled it for Blacktown off a pin-point Travis Major assist.

The home side took a two-goal lead in the second half, scoring through George Antonis in a goalmouth scramble, before a fantastic solo run from Abraham Majok make it three for Olympic.

However, Blacktown stunningly recovered with late goals from Joey Gibbs and Reuben Awaritefe to earn themselves a hard-fought point.

Rockdale Ilinden 3 v Wollongong Wolves 1 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Match Report and Highlights

Rockdale Ilinden defeated the Wollongong Wolves 3-1 with the day belonging to Alec Urosevski as the star striker bagged a hat-trick and became the club’s all-time leading goalscorer with 134 goals at the Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday.

The scene was set early when Dean Pelekanos thundered a shot against the bar in the third minute but it was club captain Alec Urosevski who netted the opener a minute later with a close range tap in.

Urosevski’s strike was cancelled out when Wollongong were awarded a penalty in the 31st minute that was tucked away by Chris McStay, back to haunt his old club, to level the scores but Urosevski was not to be denied and fired home a rasping free-kick to regain the lead for Ilinden and grasp the all-time Rockdale scoring record as his own and added a third on the stroke of half-time with a calmly taken goal exuding all the experience of years in this league.

Western Sydney Wanderers 0 v APIA Leichhardt 6 at Wanderers Football Park – Match Report and Highlights

In what is sure to have sent a statement to the rest of the league, defending Premiers APIA Leichhardt smashed league leaders Western Sydney Wanderers 6-0 at the Wanderers Football Park in a ruthless display from Franco Parisi’s troops.

After a great win against Rockdale Ilinden only a week ago, it was another fantastic display from the Inner West club.

Three goals to Ben Gibson, two to Jack Stewart and one to Alex Denmead made the difference against the Wanderers who were without several of their best young senior academy players who had just flown back from Melbourne but too late for this game, after last night’s A-League encounter where the Wanderers senior team had an important 4-3 victory over Melbourne Victory.

However, take nothing away from APIA Leichhardt FC in what was a truly outstanding and clinical display of football.

Central Coast Mariners 3 v Sutherland Sharks 2 at Pluim Park – Match Report and Highlights

After six weeks on the road, the Central Coast Mariners returned home to Pluim Park in fine fashion with a 3-2 victory over Sutherland Sharks FC on Sunday evening.

A first half brace from leading goal scorer Luka Smyth was backed by his skipper Lucas Scicluna early in the second half, as both sides came to blows which saw a straight red card to experienced Sharks keeper Nenad Vekic.

The Sharks fought gallantly and had goals to Mason Fernandez and Maxx Green but it wasn’t to be as the Mariners took the three points to ease their relegation fears for now.
