Hills United FC held their local rivals to at bay in the first half and had their chances just after half-time but couldn’t convert. Their best chances fell to Thomas Lopez and Thomas Makko coming out of the break.
Jak O’Brien gave City the lead in the 66th minute then stalwart Travis Major confirmed the win with his 75th minute goal.
St George FC 3 v Sutherland Sharks 1 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights
Sutherland Sharks woes continued as they felt the wrath of local rivals St George FC, losing 3-1 in yet another tough loss on a chilly winter’s evening at the Ilinden Sports Centre on Saturday.
Kosta Grozos opened the scoring with a delightful curling effort from out of nothing before Troy Danaskos added a second midway through the half, powerfully heading home from a corner. Moric pulled one back before the break for Sutherland after a goalmouth scramble to reduce the lead.
Aeden O’Shea came off the bench to settle the tie with a neatly flicked goal at the near post late on to secure a home win and three points for St George.
Western Sydney Wanderers 2 v Marconi 5 at Wanderers Football Park – Full Match Report and Highlights
The Marconi Stallions sent a statement to the rest of the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition following a comprehensive 5-2 victory over former table toppers Western Sydney Wanderers at a bitterly cold and windy evening in Sydney’s west.
