St George City are preparing for a shot at surprising the high-flyers of the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition under the guidance of returning coach Manny Spanoudakis with the 2025 season commencing this Friday.

City made a couple of key signings late in the piece with former Newcastle Jets defender Nathan Grimaldi, along with Visa players, Portuguese ace Goncalo Agrelos and Scotsman Marc McNulty joining the club.  Agrelos comes to the club after spending time playing in his native country in Portugal while McNulty comes with some pedigree with the 32-year-old striker playing for a hatful of clubs in U.K. including Sheffield United, Portsmouth, Bradford City, Coventry City, Reading, Sunderland, Hibernian, Dundee United before settling in Ireland with Shamrock Rovers before making the move down under.

These three new faces join former APIA Leichhardt FC utility Dakota Askew as well as Brazilian born Caio De Godoy who signs on from rivals St George FC.

The club have resigned a number of its 2024 players including tough tackling defender and skipper Tarik Ercan along with Brodie Clarkson, Dominic Cox, Fumoto Kamada, Nathan Roberts, Jack Kenny, Louis Khoury, Paolo Mitry and Solomon Vaiika to name a few.

City kicks off its 2025 NPL Men’s NSW campaign with a short trip to Rockdale as they tackle 2024 Premiers Ilinden this Saturday in a fantastic opening derby clash.
