Manly United 0 v Sutherland Sharks 3 at Cromer Park – Match Report and Highlights
The Sutherland Sharks recorded an entertaining 3-0 victory over Manly United at Cromer Park on Friday evening signalling its intent in challenging for silverware during their round 2 National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW clash.
Yerasimakis (Makis) Petratos secured an impressive double, whilst Lachlan Macdonald scored from an unthinkable angle in the visitor’s impressive victory.
Wollongong Wolves v St George City at WIN Stadium POSTPONED
Lightning was the main cause of concern at WIN Stadium as Wollongong Wolves’ match against St George City on Friday was abandoned.
Play was stopped at approximately the 31st minute of the match with the Wolves leading thanks to a well taken goal by Nicholas Olsen.
The match will be resumed on Wednesday, February 19th at Macedonia Park, Berkeley from 7:45pm.
Play will recommence from the 31st minute using the same team sheet and current 1-0 score.
St George FC 1 v Rockdale Ilinden 2 at Barton Park – Match Report and Highlights
Rockdale Ilinden came from a goal behind to defeat rivals St George FC in thrilling circumstances 2-1 thanks to an injury time winner via the boot of Brae Ovens at Barton Park on Friday.
The hotly contested round 2 National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW match saw Saints skipper Troy Danaskos put his side in front via the penalty spot midway through the second half as the hosts sensed the upset was coming. It wasn’t to be as the reigning 2024 Premiers showed their grit and determination with late goals from Brendan Cholakian and the eventual winner from Ovens that all but broke St George FC’s hearts.
Mt Druitt Town Rangers 0 v Marconi 2 at Popondetta Park – Match Report and Highlights
Marconi Stallions opened its win account on Saturday afternoon after defeating the Mt Druitt Town Rangers 2-0 at Popondetta Park.
The Stallions galloped forward from the opening whistle as they flexed their muscles showcasing their intent on winning everything this season.
An unfortunate own goal after some great build up play by Damien Tsekenis kicked things off for the visitors before Marconi keeper James Hilton came up trumps thwarting Joey Gibbs from the penalty spot in the first half.
Tsekenis then got himself on the scoresheet with a well taken goal a minute into extra time in the first half and that’s how it ended as the Stallions ran out 2-0 winners.
Sydney Olympic 0 v WS Wanderers 1 at Belmore Sports Ground – Match Report and Highlights
The Western Sydney Wanderers claimed its first big scalp of the 2025 National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW season downing one of the league’s heavyweights Sydney Olympic 1-0 in a hot and humid Saturday afternoon at the Belmore Sports Ground.
It was a game where the home side created most of chances but as so often occurs in football, the opposition grabbed the unexpected victory when the chances were not converted.
Awan Lual was the hero for the Wanderers as his goal midway through the second half was all that separated both teams as the young guns claimed a huge win away from home.
Blacktown City 0 v NWS Spirit FC 4 at Landen Stadium – Match Report and Highlights
NWS Spirit have made an early statement as new signings Yu Okubo and Takumi Ofuka led a dominant 4-0 victory over Blacktown City at Landen Stadium.
Okubo scored a brilliant opener in the 13th minute before Ofuka converted from the spot at the start of the second half with Grant Lynch being shown a red card for being the last man.
Ofuka doubled his tally with six minutes remaining before an unfortunate Jakob Cresnar goal all but sealed maximum points for David Perkovic’s side.
Sydney FC 3 v Sydney United 58 1 at Ilinden Sports Centre – Match Report and Highlights
Sydney FC triumphed over Sydney United 58 with a 3-1 win at Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon.
It was a hard-fought first half with end-to-end action, however the young Sky Blues broke ahead in the second stanza to secure three points from the match. The opening goal came from Joe Lacey in the 49th minute and was quickly followed by an equaliser from Mason Wells in the 53rd minute.
Another Sydney FC goal came from Joseph Calusic in the 62nd minute and Mathias Macallister finished the scoring with a third goal for the hosts in the 80th minute.
Central Coast Mariners 2 v APIA Leichhardt FC 6 at Pluim Park – Match Report and Highlights
APIA Leichhardt FC earned their first win of the 2025 NPL Men’s NSW campaign with a stunning 6-2 win against Central Coast Mariners.
Presley Ortiz headlined the victory with a hat-trick while Jordan Segreto, Alex Denmead and Michael Kouta also scored for the visitors.
Zayd Kassaby and a blazing strike from Lawrence Taylor found the back of the net for the Mariners.
