Rangers ravaged by clinical Spirit

Clinical in their execution, NWS Spirit FC capped off their tribe day with a 5-0 win over Mt Druitt Town Rangers in round 15 National Premier League NSW Men’s action at Christie Park.
Taking a three goal lead before the break, the hosts added two more after the break to round out a five-star performance for David Perkovic’s troops.
Celebrating the club’s tribe day, the hosts started on the front foot and opened the games account six minutes in. Michael Konestaabo applied a first time finish into the bottom left after a Takumi Ofuka cut back on the right by-line.
The Rangers soon woke up after conceding as Joey Gibbs saw his shot inside the area smothered while John Azar also saw his shot deflected.
Despite that, it was Spirit who doubled their advantage as Takumi Ofuka added a goal to his assist with a finish from a narrow angle.
Two goals became three soon after as Mt Druitt failed to clear a free-kick with Kyah Williams getting the final touch that hit the back of the net thanks to a Frankie Ljucovic cross.
NWS Spirit FC were just too clinical for their visitors who were unable to capitalise on their moments.
A bad night for the visitors was made even worse in the 56th minute as Spirit extended their lead to four. Michael Konestabo grabbed his second via a deflected shot which went into the right side of the net.
Christopher Marques was called into action soon after that goal denying Thomas Lopez after he was played through on goal.
Spirit then added their fifth goal just after the hour thanks to a good strike from Marco Arambasic as the ball found itself hit the bottom right corner.
It was a great way to end the match for the hosts who ran riot taking all three points with a 5-0 win.
Post-match, NWS Spirit FC coach David Perkovic expressed his delight with his sides professional performance.
“I w very pleased with the win obviously, a clean sheet as well as five goals, I thought it was a professional performance all round.
“Takumi Ofuka and Michael Konestabo are red hot at the moment. Ofuka was exceptional and Konestabo has been so for a few weeks now, it was a great performance by both.”
