In one of the biggest off-season transfer moves, 2025 National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW Player of the Year Nick Olsen has returned to Seymour Shaw and will don the Sutherland Sharks FC kit once more for the 2026 season

One of the most explosive attacking talents in the competition, Olsen arrives as a major statement signing from incoming Head Coach David Perkovic and stands as a cornerstone of the Club’s ambition to win the NPL Men’s NSW Premiership within the next three years, as outlined in our Three-Year Plan.

Comfortable operating as a winger, attacking midfielder or centre forward, the former Wollongong Wolves star brings a blend of pace, power and genuine end product. His ability to break lines, score decisive goals and turn games in an instant makes him one of the league’s most dangerous attackers—and an immediate focal point of the Sharks’ 2026 front line.

His return also marks a meaningful homecoming. Olsen previously spent time at the Club earlier in his career before establishing himself across the NPL NSW Men’s competition and beyond, earning a reputation as a big-moment player with a ruthless edge in the final third. His growth, maturity and consistency over recent seasons now position him as one of the state’s most formidable attacking threats.

Perkovic, preparing for his first season in charge, emphasised the strategic significance of Olsen’s arrival.

“Nick is a match-winner. His ability to create something out of nothing changes how teams prepare for us and lifts the entire squad. We want to be front-foot, aggressive and dynamic this season, and Nicholas fits that identity perfectly.”

Olsen’s signing forms part of a broader recruitment drive aimed at strengthening key areas across the pitch and assembling a squad capable of challenging at the top end of the competition.

For Olsen, the decision to return to the Shire felt like the perfect move.

“Being announced as a Sutho player again feels great. There’s something really special about coming back to the club where I started my career. A lot has changed while I’ve been away, but the Club’s ambition is clear, the environment is strong, and Perko’s plans really appealed to me. I’m excited to be here and can’t wait to get started.”

With Olsen locked in for 2026, the Sharks add proven firepower, game-breaking quality and a player with the mentality to influence the biggest moments of the season.
