Current Waratah Cup holders Sydney United 58 will enter the upcoming National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW season with renewed purpose, as head coach Miro Vlastelica returns to the helm for another campaign.

Widely regarded as one of the most iconic clubs in Australian football, Sydney United 58 will present a refreshed look and feel in 2026, with a number of new faces joining the squad as the club looks to remain competitive across all fronts.

Strengthening the goalkeeping department, former A-League Men’s goalkeeper Adam Pavlesic joins the squad, bringing top-level experience to Sydney United Sports Centre. He is joined by Max Burrato and Nick Pratezina, while one of the competition’s most recognisable playmakers returns in Japanese attacking midfielder Tomoki Wada, who arrives after a spell playing in Asia.

The off-season has also seen significant turnover, with several long-serving and popular players moving on. Fan favourite Patrick Antelmi headlines a list of departures that includes Tristan Prendergast, Aidan Milicevic, Josip Orlovic, Luke Zuvela, Michael Pratezina, Mario Shabow, Matthew Hatch, Thomas Makko, Marl Leonard, Noah Blazeka, Ayouk Mow, Richie Darko, Farah Koko, Koya Nakano, Marco Arambasic and Stephen De Robillard, all bidding farewell to the BOKA Stand.

Despite the changes, Sydney United 58 retain a strong and experienced core. Bailey Rule, club captain Adrian Vlastelica, Anthony Tomelic, Dylan Rose, Leroy Jennings, Kyle Cimenti, Carlos De Oliveira, Gabriel Tilo, Jordan Ivancic, Liam McGing, Adrian Knez, Ante Krillic, Michael Glassock, Michael Krslovic, Vedran Janjetovic and Mason Wells have all re-signed from last season, providing continuity and leadership within the squad.

With Vlastelica back in charge and a balanced mix of experience and new talent, Sydney United 58 will be eager to build on their Waratah Cup success and mount a strong challenge throughout the 2026 NPL Men’s NSW campaign.

Sydney United 58’s season begins with a Round 1 home fixture against UNSW FC at Sydney United Sports Centre on Sunday, 8 February.
