Round 7 of the National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW features several crucial clashes for teams across an enticing weekend of action.

Here is the preview for another big round early in the season.

SYDNEY FC VS UNSW FC

7:30 pm, Friday 20 March – Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre

Sydney FC kick off the round at home to UNSW, as both teams target a much-needed set of three points.

The young Sky Blues lost their second game in a row, in a dramatic late defeat to Sydney United 58 in Round 6.

UNSW did not capitalise on their impressive draw against Marconi in Round 5, losing out 1-0 to Sutherland Sharks last weekend, meaning they are still without a victory in 2026.

Friday’s game is crucial, with a win able to help these teams get further up the table and end winless runs.

SD RAIDERS FC VS MANLY UNITED FC

5:00 pm, Saturday 21 March – Ernie Smith Reserve

SD Raiders face Manly United in one of two 5:00 pm Saturday kick-offs as the sides look to earn a vital win early in the year.

Raiders remain at the foot of the table, following their fifth loss of the season, still chasing their first three points of 2026. The side showed some positive signs, leading 2-0 against St George City in Round 6, but the game fell away for the newly-promoted outfit.

Manly find themselves in a similar rut, having not won since the opening round, coming into Saturday’s game with three defeats on the bounce.

Both teams will be desperate to snatch a win to build their form for the year.

SYDNEY OLYMPIC FC VS WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS FC

5:00 pm, Saturday 21 March – Belmore Sports Ground

Sydney Olympic are at home to Western Sydney Wanderers in the other 5:00 pm kick-off.

Olympic’s tough start to 2026 continued in Round 6, with a 2-0 loss to high-flying St George FC.

Western Sydney carried on their impressive form as they claimed a narrow victory over Manly United to make it back-to-back wins in the competition.

Games were tight between these two last year, with Wanderers winning 1-0 in Round 2 and then drawing 1-1 with Olympic later in the season.

Olympic will be eager to halt their winless run, but Western Sydney have the momentum with them at the moment.

NWS SPIRIT FC VS ROCKDALE ILINDEN FC

5:30 pm, Saturday 21 March – Christie Park

NWS Spirit play host to Rockdale Ilinden on Saturday night, as both teams look to get back on track after failing to win in their last match.

Spirit were held to a 0-0 draw with Wollongong Wolves last Sunday, missing a late penalty, which would have seen them win three matches in a row.

Rockdale’s three-game winning run came to an end at the hands of APIA Leichhardt in Round 6, losing 1-0.

There was no shortage of drama between these teams in 2025, including Spirit’s 6-1 win in Round 24, and Rockdale’s extra-time win en route to the Grand Final.

Last season’s high-flyers Spirit and Ilinden have endured mixed starts to 2026, making Saturday’s match the perfect opportunity to build momentum.

APIA LEICHHARDT FC VS SUTHERLAND SHARKS FC

5:45 pm, Saturday 21 March – Lambert Park

APIA Leichhardt face a rejuvenated Sutherland Sharks on Saturday at Lambert Park.

APIA extended their unbeaten run to five matches, edging past Rockdale Ilinden, courtesy of Michael Konestabo’s late goal, making their Round 1 loss the only defeat so far for the side.

Sutherland have put three losses in a row to start the year behind them, with two wins in their last three games, most recently downing UNSW 1-0.

APIA got the better of the Sharks last year, winning both games without conceding a goal.

The hosts have produced a strong winning run to start the season, but Sutherland could have turned a corner, setting up an intriguing clash.

ST GEORGE FC VS MARCONI STALLIONS FC

6:30 pm, Saturday 21 March – Barton Park

Two of the early challengers St George FC and Marconi Stallions face off on Saturday evening.

St George FC are still yet to concede a goal in the NPL Men’s NSW, following a routine 2-0 win against Sydney Olympic, and have dropped only two points all season.

Marconi got back to winning ways, with a 1-0 victory over Blacktown City in Round 6, ending a two-game winless run for the side.

The Stallions will be missing key defender Anton Mlinaric for this one after he was sent off against Blacktown City in Round 6.

These teams could not be separated in 2025, with draws in both encounters, but as they chase the top spots again, that might not be the case this time around.

ST GEORGE CITY FA VS WOLLONGONG WOLVES FC

7:15 pm, Saturday 21 March – Penshurst Park

St George City welcome Wollongong Wolves in the late kick-off on Saturday night.

City secured their second win of the season in dramatic fashion, coming from two goals down to beat SD Raiders 4-3 in Round 6, meaning they have only lost one of their last five matches.

The Wolves extended their unbeaten run to two matches, playing out a 0-0 draw with reigning Premiers NWS Spirit last weekend.

Wollongong earned a 3-0 win over their opponents in Round 2 last season, before the sides shared the points in a 1-1 draw later in the year.

With the prospects of edging closer to a top-six place, Saturday is an important match for both teams.

SYDNEY UNITED 58 FC VS BLACKTOWN CITY FC

5:00 pm, Sunday 22 March – Sydney United Sports Centre

Sydney United 58 are in action against Blacktown City in the only Sunday match of Round 6, with the teams experiencing contrasting starts to the season.

United 58 extended their perfect start to this season with a stoppage-time win against Sydney FC, following a sensational free-kick from Farah Koko.

Blacktown City suffered another narrow defeat last weekend, going to Marconi Stallions, meaning they have lost all four of their last games by a single goal.

Each team claimed a win in 2025. Blacktown got up 3-2 in Round 12, and United 58 won 1-0 in Round 27.

United 58 have had a super start to this year, but City need a win to put their tough run behind them.
