Wolves unleashing the ‘Bul’
The football factory continues to churn out more quality attackers at the South Coast as the Wollongong Wolves have unearthed yet another lethal marksman in the form of 19-year-old South Sudanese born young gun Bul Juach.
With 2019 NPL Player of the Year and Golden Boot winner Thomas James winning himself a well-earned A-League short-term contract with the Perth Glory, Wolves coach Luke Wilkshire has called upon Juach to cease this opportunity in the newly rebooted season lining him up alongside fellow in-form marksman Lachlan Scott.
His talent was there to be seen when he starred with a brace as the 2019 Premiers defeated last season’s Premiers APIA Leichhardt FC 4-1 in a devastating second half display from Wilkshire’s troops – Juach in particular was one of the stars of the show proving to many that he may be one of the success stories of the 2020 season.
“It’s been an amazing feeling getting back to playing the game I love.
“We’ve played two matches now and the players and club are on a high.
“I have been happy with my form but even happier with my team’s form – it’s no surprise to me though as we’ve put in the hard yards for a couple of months now and this is showing through our matches.
“My main objective is to help the team win the league and continue to strive further as a footballer.”
Juach is hoping he can form a deadly partnership with former Western Sydney Wanderer Lachlan Scott in keeping rival NPL NSW Men’s defenders on their toes throughout the condensed season.
“I am very happy with the partnership alongside Lachlan.
“He is in great form and it’s been a pleasure learning from him.
“I know this partnership will get even better as we play many more matches together.
“Lachlan is a very good player to play with but an even better person, just like the rest of the boys from this great club.”
Always playing with a smile on his face, Juach stated to Football NSW that he did learn a hell of a lot while James was in the senior squad last season and has also benefited greatly under the watchful coaching eye of Wilkshire.
“I’ve definitely learned a lot from Thomas James while he was at the club.
“We did a lot of individual training together and being able to learn from a goal machine like him is certainly playing a big role in my performances so far.
“Thomas is a great guy, Lachlan and I will make sure however he is not missed too much (laughs).
“As for Luke, I have a huge respect for him.
“He has played a massive role in my development as a footballer and continues to work on finding talented players in our region – you can see his hard work is paying off as our team is quite young thanks to him, he’s a great coach but an even better human being.”
Hailing from his native South Sudan, Juach grew up in a refugee camp in Kenya and came to Australia at the age of 12 where his football talents were noticed – thankfully for the Wolves, it was their club that snapped up the tall marksman.
Bul’s next target is the Marconi Stallions where he hopes he can sting the back of Nenad Vekic’s net this Sunday at Albert Butler Memorial Park as well as increasing his goal tally for the 2020 season.
“I am certainly looking forward to the big match against the Stallions this Sunday.
“Marconi are a good side but we are hoping we can continue to play good football as well as getting the victory in front of our home fans.”
