Sydney FC 1 v Sydney United 58 0 at Sydney United Sports Centre – Full Match Report and Highlights

A hungry young and firing Sydney FC outfit took care of Australia Cup Round of 32 entrants Sydney United 58 on a wintery Friday evening thanks to a Cameron Fong header as they stole all three points in a 1-0 victory at the Sydney United Sports Centre.

The young Sky Blues had to work for the three points against a dogged Sydney United 58 defence.

Fong got the winner from Matthew Scarcella’s cross in the 66th minute to give them three points to continue their rise on the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s ladder.

For Sydney United 58, they worked hard but were unable to fashion many chances. Their best chances came from the set piece and a superb strike from substitute Tasei Kaneko which forced Adam Pavlesic into a save.

Wollongong Wolves 1 v St George City 2 at Albert Butler Memorial Park – Full Match Report and Highlights

St George City earned a hard-fought 2-1 win against Wollongong Wolves on a chilly Friday evening at Albert Butler Memorial Park.

Presley Ortiz gave St George the lead which they took into halftime.

Lachlan Scott responded for the Wolves early in the second period but seven minutes after, City were back in front courtesy of a Banri Kanaizumi own goal.

Current National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s league leaders continued its impressive run towards a hopeful 2023 Premiership following a come from behind 2-1 victory over relegation threatened Bulls FC Academy on Saturday afternoon at the Sydney United Sports Centre.

The hosts had a bright start to the contest taking the lead through an own goal before they were pegged back by APIA thanks to a double from star striker Jack Armson, his second a beauty that secured all three points.

Sydney Olympic 1 v Blacktown City 3 at Belmore Sports Ground – Full Match Report and Highlights

Blacktown City have made it four wins in a row with a clinical 3-1 victory over Sydney Olympic at Belmore Sports Ground.

The away side opened the scoring in the ninth minute thanks to a clinical Travis Major finish, before O’Brien doubled the lead after some good build-up play.

Blacktown added a third in the second half thanks to Charles Mendy, before Roy O’Donovan chipped superbly from a tight angle to draw one back for the home side.

Sydney Olympic continued to pile on the pressure throughout the second half, but Blacktown’s defence stood strong to keep them out and secure the three points.

Sutherland Sharks 0 v Marconi 0 at Seymour Shaw – Full Match Report and Highlights

Sutherland Sharks halted Marconi Stallions’ Premiership run with a scoreless 0-0 draw on a cold Saturday evening at Seymour Shaw Park.

It was a positive result for Sharks’ interim coach Panny Nikas who took over from Damir Prodanovic following his move to the A-League after being appointed as the assistant coach for the Newcastle Jets midweek.

Both sides had numerous chances to secure all three points as both keepers were tested throughout the course of the match but both teams failed to hit the back of the net.

Western Sydney Wanderers 3 v Rockdale Ilinden 3 at Wanderers Football Park – Full Match Report and Highlights

The Western Sydney Wanderers and Rockdale Ilinden have put together an attacking masterpiece at Wanderers Football Park earning themselves one point a piece in a thrilling 3-3 draw on Saturday night.

Nicolas Milanovic scored the opening goal with a header, one minute before he nearly hit one of the goals of the season off a free kick.

This was followed by an own goal by Nikola Ujdur, before the visiting team would come back into the game.

In the 37th minute, in what looked like a potential cross by Bai Antoniou, it found the back of the net- confusing both Caruso and the Wanderers’ defenders.

While it looked like Antoniou had gifted the visiting team a lifeline, the Wanderers would make it 3-1 through Nathanael Blair in the 39th minute, followed by Alec Urosevski making in 3-2 heading into halftime.

It wasn’t until the 76th minute that Rockdale was able to make the scores level. Brendan Cholakian disposed Aidan Simmons, leading to yet another goal for their captain.

The visitors did end the match with ten-men following the dismissal of new recruit Diego Celis for a second caution.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers 1 v Central Coast Mariners 2 at Popondetta Park – Full Match Report and Highlights

The Central Coast Mariners have extended their winning streak to three with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Mt Druitt Town Rangers at Popondetta Park on a chilly Saturday night.

With the Mariners producing some late-season magic and Mt Druitt needing a win to further itself away from a relegation battle, the scene was set for a highly anticipated fixture.

It was the Mariners who opened the scoring in the 25th minute after a stellar bit of play between Bailey Brandtman and Aydan Hammond.

The Mariners held the lead going into the halftime break but looked destined to extend their lead after missing a few golden chances.

Mt Druitt was first to answer back in the second half after the skipper Tarik Elrich became the beneficiary of some great link-up play to put his side back in the contest.

The winning moment of the game came in the 80th minute when substitute Aidan Milicevic was on the receiving end of a perfectly placed pass from Brandtman and neatly finished his chance.

Manly United 0 v NWS Spirit FC 2 at Cromer Park – Full Match Report and Highlights

NWS Spirit FC rose into the top half of the table after two early goals saw them secure a 2-0 victory over Manly United at Cromer Park on Saturday night.

Both Kota Odakura and Mitchell Davidson struck within the opening half an hour to grant David Perkovic’s side an unassailable lead.

Despite there being a few more flashpoints in a tense affair, no further goals would be converted as the Spirit travelled home with a result that saw them ascend into eighth on the ladder.
