Let’s take a look back at all the action from Round 18 of the National Premier Leagues NSW competition.

Sydney FC 1 v NWS Spirit FC 0 @ Ilinden Sports Centre
Sydney FC edged NWS Spirit 1-0 in a tight, high-intensity contest at Ilinden Sports Centre on Friday night, with a first-half Mitchell Glasson header proving decisive.
After taking the lead, the Sky Blues controlled spells of possession but were forced to withstand sustained pressure from Spirit after the break, with Gus Hoefsloot making key saves to preserve the clean sheet.
Despite Spirit’s territorial dominance in the second half and several late chances, Sydney FC held firm to bounce back from last week’s heavy defeat and claim a hard-fought three points.

WSW 0 v Sydney United 59 2 @ Wanderers Football Park
Sydney United 58 returned to the winner’s circle with a controlled 2-0 win over Western Sydney Wanderers at Wanderers Football Park, sealing victory through a Kyle Cimenti penalty in the 18th minute and a composed second-half finish from Carlos De Oliveira in the 66th.
The visitors took control after a tight opening spell, with Adam Pavlesic producing key saves to preserve the lead as the Wanderers pushed for a response, but United’s defensive structure held firm throughout.
Despite late chances for the hosts, including efforts from Lachlan Sattout and Mason Wells, Sydney United 58 closed out a deserved win.

SD Raiders FC 2 v UNSW FC 0 @ Ernie Smith Reserve
SD Raiders FC returned from their break with a strong 2-0 win over UNSW FC at Ernie Smith Reserve on Saturday night.
Luka Knezevic opened the scoring in the 36th minute after pouncing on a defensive error, before Ethan Beaven sealed the result in the 57th minute with a composed finish.
UNSW FC had chances through Oliver Puflett and Jyden Harb but couldn’t convert, with SD Raiders holding firm defensively to secure all three points.

APIA Leichhardt FC 2 v Manly United 0 @ Lambert Park
APIA Leichhardt moved back to the top of the ladder with a controlled 2-0 victory over Manly United at Lambert Park, making it back-to-back wins in a strong run of form against the Northern Beaches side.
Oscar Gonzalez opened the scoring in the 21st minute after a quick free-kick caught Manly off guard, before former Manly attacker Presley Ortiz sealed the result in the 71st minute against his old club. Despite a series of chances from both sides including efforts from Seiya Kambayashi, Rory Jordan, and Ayumu Kimura hitting the post late, APIA’s quality in key moments proved the difference as they held firm defensively to secure all three points.

St George FC 1 v Sutherland Sharks 2 @ Barton Park
Sutherland Sharks extended their winning streak to three matches with a hard-fought 2-1 derby win over St George FC at Barton Park.
A moment of brilliance from Ryley Hollingdale, who curled a superb 25-yard free-kick into the top corner just before half-time, gave the Sharks the lead, before Jayden Seeto levelled for St George early in the second half.
However, Richard Shoueiki struck in the 80th minute with a composed finish to restore Sutherland’s advantage and ultimately secure the win, as St George’s difficult run continued with a 12th straight defeat despite a spirited performance.

St George City 1 v Sydney Olympic 1 @ Penshurst Park
St George City FA and Sydney Olympic FC played out a dramatic 1-1 draw at Penshurst with both goals coming late in a tense finish.
Yohn Pedersen looked to have secured victory for the hosts with a superb 85th-minute chip after St George had created several chances through Matthew Jackson and Hiroto Dohmoto, but Sydney Olympic refused to give in and struck deep into stoppage time when Bailey Callaghan reacted quickest in the box to rescue a point.
It was a frustrating result for St George City, who dropped further late points at home, while Olympic will take confidence from their character in securing a last-gasp equaliser.

Blacktown City 1 v Rockdale Ilinden 2 @ Landen Stadium
Rockdale Ilinden came away with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Blacktown City at Landen Stadium, with Moudi Najjar opening the scoring just before half-time before Travis Major levelled for the hosts after sustained pressure; however, Brendan Cholakian struck the decisive goal after Jak O’Brien’s late red card left Blacktown with 10 men, as City were left to rue missed chances and a strong second-half fightback in a tight, physical contest decided by fine margins.

Marconi 1 v Wollongong Wolvers 0 @ Marconi Stadium
Marconi Stallions returned to the top of the NPL Men’s NSW ladder with a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Wollongong Wolves at Marconi Stadium on Sunday afternoon, thanks to an early strike from captain Marko Jesic in the 7th minute.
The Stallions started strongly and created several chances through George Daniel, Matej Busek and Tyren Burnie, while goalkeeper Joel Wade stood firm against a Wolves side that grew into the contest and pushed hard after the break. Wollongong had opportunities through Lucas Trajcevski, Marcus Beattie and Liam Ball late on, but couldn’t find an equaliser as Marconi managed the game defensively to secure all three points and reclaim top spot on the table.
