Round 5 of the NPL NSW Men’s Team of the Week rolled in and there were some quality performances yet again by some familiar names while some new additions entered the fold.

Sydney United 58 had Danijel Nizic to thank for his keeping heroics keeping out Blacktown City as his side triumphed 2-1 at Blacktown City Sports Centre.

The big custodian had one of those games where his presence and instincts were on song in what was a highly entertaining match.

Manly United had two additions this week with Japanese import Seiya Kambayashi slowly getting back to his 2021 form with a decent performance as did experienced defender Kieran Paull in their 3-0 victory over the Northbridge Bulls.

APIA’s tall timber in Themba Muata-Marlow has been the unsung hero for the current table toppers, and although he may not have the current status of his fellow counterpart in Jason Romero who again found his name in the ‘Team of the Week’, it’s been his ability to keep rival strikers at bay that has kept the ship sailing at Lambert Park.

Speaking of APIA who completed the trio was Sean Symons whose spectacular goal grabbed the headlines as did his presence coming off the bench to change the game for Danial Cummins’ side.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers’ Louis Khoury continues to impress having scored and created a number of chances in his side’s 2-2 draw against Rockdale while Sydney Olympic’s Darcy Burgess had a quality performance in the Blues’ 2-1 win over the Marconi Stallions where he too notched up a goal with a well taken volley.

Blacktown City’s industrial midfielder Dakota Askew worked ever so hard and grabbed the plaudits as his side’s best on the park following their loss to Sydney United 58.

While finally the attacking striking force was Sky Blue as hat-trick hero Patrick Wood along with Jaiden Kucharski were just too venomous for the Sutherland Sharks defensive unit.

Congrats to all players for their inclusions in this week’s Round 4 NPL NSW Men’s ‘Team of the Week’.
