The Marconi Stallions are ready to fire as they hope to land some silverware in 2023 after announcing several new faces to boost the club’s stocks for a big season ahead.
Coach Peter Tsekenis, returning for his sixth consecutive season alongside his trusty assistant Peter Papoythis and Manny Spanoudakis, has managed to recruit some quality players that he hopes will make an impact in what is shaping up to be a very competitive 2023 National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s year.
Former Central Coast Mariner Daniel Bouman and ex-Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers player Jordi Swibel join former Blacktown City FC Japanese import Hiroaki Aoyama, Kyle Cimenti from Sydney United 58, ex-A-League defender Liam McGing and promising young gun keepers Jack Gibson and Nathan Foster as the new faces set to light up Marconi Stadium.
The new additions join a quality list of Stallions regulars such as skipper Marko Jesic, Dominic Costanzo, Nathan Millgate, Taylor McDonald, Liam Youlley, Chris Hatfield, Martin Fernandez and the Speranza brothers Giorgio and Roberto to name a few.
Tsekenis has also promoted three exciting young stars to the senior setup with 16-year-old attacking midfielder Luka Knezevic and 18-year-old’s Justin Vidic and Luke Raso hoping to push for some NPL NSW Men’s game time and experience in their first senior year.
The club has a handful of matches booked in with the Stallions travelling to Newcastle next weekend to take on the Broadmeadow Magic before going on a break and recommencing their training on the 3rd of January 2023.
From there they’ve organised friendly matches against the Inner West Hawks (10th January), Rockdale Ilinden (14th January), Rydalmere Lions (17th January), Bankstown City (21st January) and Western Sydney Wanderers (29th January) before the competition kicks off on the first weekend of February.
