There’s a buzz in the air at Christie Park as NWS Spirit FC have kicked off it’s ambitions on shaking up this year’s National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW competition following a flurry of key new recruits set to bolster the squad for the upcoming season.

The new faces dominating the headlines are two Japanese stars that have set the NPL Men’s league alight in previous seasons with ex-Hills United frontman Yu Okubo and former Wollongong Wolves ace Takumi Ofuka joining the club.

Both star recruits will no doubt be players to watch out for while coach David Perkovic has moved swiftly to sign five fresh new faces with Bradie Smith, Jordan Perez, Frankie Ljucovic, Marco Arambasic and Jamie Percevski all calling Spirit home for the new year.

Smith returns to Australia following a stint abroad playing in Cambodia while Perez another Australian also makes his return on home soil after spending time playing in Spain and more recently Cyprus.

American import Ljucovic will be another player keen to make his mark with the midfielder hoping to spur the Spirit attack while Arambasic and Percevski will add more NPL experience to the squad.

The likes of keeper Chris Marques, Kyah Williams, Corey Kavanagh, Grant Cornwell, Michael Konestabo, Ollie Wiggin, Simon Nicholas, Jake Chidiac, Anthony Younis and Zayne Ahluwalia have all been retained from the club’s 2024 squad.
